Has anyone played Stella Glow and has also played the Mercenaries series? Am always tempted to buy Mercenaries because I absolutely loved Stella Glow and am wondering how you liked it compared to. I’m highly anticipating the Triangle turn based game coming out from SE but Mercenaries is so tempting.
I liked the Dark Room. It’s not a super long game-but for a couple bucks I’d say it’s more than worth it.
@ChromaticDracula As Nintendo Life's own reviews say, the Mercenaries games are pretty unremarkable. But if you grab them cheap, they're still a passable way to get your SRPG fix while waiting on something bigger to come along.
Note: Of the franchise, I've only played Mercenaries Saga 2, on my 3DS.
Pan-Pan is a tiny little puzzle adventure you can complete in one setting, with a very soothing, colorful presentation.
Nothing special, but if you're in the mood for something like that it's worth it at 80% off.
Can anyone recommend (or otherwise) Shelter Generations?
It always intrigued me but I'm not sure.
Props for ending it on April 7 so I can toss the potential splurge items to next payday's gaming tab rather than tomorrow's (which has routinely grown its own pile of tempting discounts on top of the OG Fire Emblem to pick up in time). I'm particularly hoping to grab Will: A Wonderful World at long last.
I have heard of... none of these.
@Strife89 That's sort of what I gathered that it sort either plays it too safe or doesn't;t do enough things different or does anything to set it apart. I personally am not looking for it to blow me away but I am looking for it to be mildly challenging, not glitchy, well-made, making me have some attachment to the characters... Just want it to be well-made and well-done.
Funny you mention 3DS because that's exactly what I'll end up buying it on if and when I do. I just think it would be so much more fun to play on there instead of the Switch. I sort of feel that way with a lot of games. Thanks!
@clvr I played Shelter 1 on PC back in the day. I found it to be a very charming and stylish animal game. If the graphical style from the screenshots calls out to you, and you like the idea of a "palate cleanser" game where you play as a mother badger, it's definitely worth a play.
Hang about, they had a sale not so long ago which I delved into. The Rabi-Ribi price was 10% off last time so may download this time. I'll have to see what the budget allows
Arrest of a Stone Buddha and I'll look at Rabi-Ribi again and wonder if it'll go lower.
@N64-ROX thanks!
Yeah the art style is definitely intriguing to me, but I never understood how it plays lol
It seems to me that it's a relaxing "experience" more than a mechanics-driven game, right?
@clvr yeah that's right. But shepherding your children through sometimes-hostile environments is not always relaxing...
@ChromaticDracula Stella Glow is in a higher tier to Mercenaries Saga. I think you will find the latter quite average.
A dark room is absolutely superb. My first play through was about 5 hours and was HOOKED! If any game is worth a punt without knowing anything about it this is the one xxxx
@N64-ROX I see, thanks again for the feedback!
Have a good one mate 😃
The Friends Of Ringo Ishikawa ... at first I read that as "The Friends Of Ringo Starr" and was baffled by what kind of game it might be. I was about to buy it based on the name alone.
@Mountain_Man It's kind of like a 2D pixel art Shenmue but you don't have to avenge your father's death. Or a laid back River City Ransom where you're not fighting every 30 seconds, you can attend your classes or cut, you can get a job, take care of a cat (like in Shenmue), or DO go out and pick fights with other gangs if you want. There's not much of a linear "story" to it as there is a "thematic presentation" of event cutscenes that occur every few days or so depending on your progress. But basically, it's a coming of age story.
