This year marks 35 years of The Legend of Zelda series. Nintendo's announced an HD remake of the Wii title, Skyward Sword, and is releasing an appropriately-themed Switch Joy-Con, but apart from that, it seems to be holding out on the celebrations.
Regardless of this, fans are celebrating Link's 35th in all sorts of way, and to join in on the fun, talented British composer Marcus Hedges - who has composed for games like Century: Age of Ashes, Override 2 and Ary and the Secret of Seasons - has put together his own orchestrated soundtrack of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.
This album, as noted above, can be listened to on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music, and various other digital music services.
Hopefully, this won't be the last we'll be hearing of Wind Waker this year. In fact, in case you missed it - the 2002 classic is rumoured to be making a return later this year once the HD version of Skyward Sword is released. So, what do you think of the above soundtrack? Does it bring back fond memories of Wind Waker on the GameCube? Leave a comment down below.

Will have to check this out!
Trying to not get my hopes up for Zelda getting the all stars treatment, or at least the titles I would like to see included... I've been let down before!
Inb4 Nintendo shuts it down, which I hope is not the case.
@SeantheDon29 Grab it now, this is definitely going down especially because they're charging money for it.
Sounds great! They really put some work into this.
Hopefully Nintendo has plans for Zelda's 35th anniversary.
Just gave a few of the tracks a listen. This is really awesome and well made. Highly recommend giving it a listen, just wish a few of the tracks were longer.
Wind Waker is still my personal favorite Zelda title and the soundtrack is just phenomenal.
@Tourtus Something like the LoZ Collectors Edition on Gamecube would be a dream come true if they decide to go that route.
Added this to my spotify first thing. Sounds really good from what ive listened to so far.
fan album 🙄 why nintendo never release their music officialy on streaming services?
An official Nintendo version,nice coloured vinyl edition,gatefold sleeve with artwork would be lovely.
Just a thought.
@samuraicop The Bandcamp page says the music is used with permission. Hopefully he's not just saying that.
It sounds alright, but it's a bit short and basic in the arrangements. Not really worth the 9 pound price tag.

I'll be tracking this down to listen to on Spotify at work this week. My first experience with The Wind Waker was with the HD Wii U release. Absolutely loved it! Thanks for the heads up!
I like the theatrical sound to it and it has the right rousing rhythms going. It sticks very close to the original melodies and has many layered instruments to give it a full feeling of an orchestra, so I actually quite like the arrangement, but there is little in the way of layered orchestration (which requires much more work!) for supporting the necessarily limited voices from the originals.
Very nice overall!
Oh and this is not getting taken down. "Marcus Hedges Trend Orchestra" has been around for a long time and has been doing things legit as far as I can tell. There are additional Zelda albums from years back. I didn't recognize it at first, but the past album covers have a distinct style that I recognized.
Prepare for Nintendo to shut this down
It‘s pretty well done, thumbs up!
@Giancarlothomaz
Yup, I remember this. And the marketing aspects make perfect sense. While I do think it will happen, I'm trying to keep emotion out of it in terms of what's included.
I'd love to see WWHD, which you might have guessed! But dont want to raise the bar in my mind. I know I'll buy whatever collection comes, so if it doesnt meet those expectations, I may not feel as excited about the purchase.
Love things like this, will definitely listen to later.
One of my absolute favourites for listening to whilst going on walks was Zelda Re-orcestrated's last big project, the 3 1/2 hour Twilight Symphony. Would definitely reccomend;

This guy does some great work. Excited to give it a listen!
@SeantheDon29 @Tourtus @samuraicop There are many fan albums of gaming music remixes on Bandcamp and other sites. This is far from the only one to garner attention on news sites. Hell, before COVID, bands have gone to venues to play their remixes (as part of larger shows).
While it's illegal to monetize this, fans can say you're simply donating to them as a loophole, from what I understand.
@Kilroy I dunno, Nintendo has taken other things down for far less like AM2R which was free but just used the Metroid IP.
@Tourtus That's comparing apples to oranges. AM2R is an entire game that was released shortly before Samus Returns and if Nintendo didn't act on it, it likely would have affected sales even more than it theoretically did.
Nintendo very, very rarely releases OST's.
@Tourtus Go look up Metroid Metal by Stemage if you don't believe me about exposure. They've been around since 2003.
Sam Dillard had a freaking Kickstarter for his Zelda album.
@Kilroy Comparing two different fan projects is not like apples and oranges, sure there is differences between them but they're still fan made products using Nintendo's IPs. I know about video game metal covers, all I'm saying is that people should pick this album up in case Nintendo notices it's existence and then they may or may not take action against it. Better safe than sorry.
