Apart from Monster Hunter Rise, one other game we're rather excited for in the month of March is Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town.
It's out next month on 23rd March, and to help build some excitement, Nintendo has published a video of all the gameplay features into a single trailer. As previously noted, if you pre-order the game, you'll receive a Buffallo costume.
Farm, mine, make friends, photograph wildlife, play with your pets, there’s no shortage of fun things to do in #STORYOFSEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town, coming 3/23 to #NintendoSwitch!
Pre-order on Nintendo eShop today & receive a bonus Buffalo costume!
Will you be checking out this release when it arrives next month? Tell us down below.

I think it's very funny to realize the differences between Natsume and Marvelous in term of promoting their farming games.
Marvelous keep making a lot of trailers and gameplay footages before the release date of Pioneer of Olive Town to make us get engaged with the game, while Natsume was busy in opening the pre-order with a lot of stuffs but didn't provide a lot of trailers and more information about Harvest Moon One World, left us wondering what it looks like Harvest Moon One World. 🤔
Could it be slightly better or even worse, we still have no idea.
First time I've looked into this game. Looks promising but I'ma wait for some reviews.
I just wish they would go the graphic route they did with the Doraemon SoS game. That one looked so lovely. But this here looks a bit cheap.
@Yanina
I prefer full 3D rather than isometric 3D like Doraemon SoS.
Looks like a fun game. I feel that the graphics feel a bit cheap, but otherwise looks great!
After new Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley Story of Seasons (old Harvest Moon) formula looks kinda like a relic from the past
Well looks way better than the new harvest moon
So we'll have a new Harvest Moon and a new Story of Seasons in March? And a new Rune Factory just a few months later? Wow XD
I'm looking forward to this. I wish we could have another instalment with more realistic graphics like A Wonderful Life though.
@Broforce AWL is so brilliant, isn't it? I wish we could have another game where you live out your entire life.
Anywayyy, I think SoS looks great! I'm not going to preorder (even though I love the Buffalo costume) because I've already attempted to call dibs on the review 😅
@KateGray
I wish Marvelous change the character designer for SoS as i miss the character designer from old HM like BTN, Save the Homeland, Magical Melody.
The current character designer of SoS tends to draw the bachelors looks like wimpy kids, thin bodies, long haired guys, lack of muscular dudes, less appealing for me.
But at least Ralph, Emilio and Jack looks quite appealing for me on this SoS. They need a little bit muscle to looks more appealing for me. 😆
@Anti-Matter hard agree. Where are my beefy husbands? The wives that could beat me up? I am tired of the same stereotype spread across all the marriage candidates! Even in Stardew, it was kinda similar
I'm glad people are picking up on the Marvlous/Xseed and Natsume split.
Graphically, it's not amazing but it looks LIGHTYEARS better than anything Natsume spits out. I'm excited to just take my time building the farm.
I wish Natsume would just knock it off already.
It's probably just me but I think they need to put a lot more effort into their art style. It looks only slightly better than a mobile game. In comparing it to the 3DS SoS games, while there is a higher resolution, there is also a lot less detail in the world. It looks better than the new Harvest Moon game at least.
Between the 1.5 update of Stardew Valley coming out, the new Rune Factory game around the corner, and Bravely Default 2, I'm planning on passing on this game.
I think i'm the only person that enjoyed the last 'Harvest Moon' game and isn't really liking where the story of seasons franchise is going currently (I feel like they are going backwards in just about every department) The last game I loved fully was the original SOS on 3DS. I agree with @Broforce. With the switch's power they could more than easily achieve something akin to AWL aesthetically, but i feel they are skimping at every opportunity in order to pump out the games more quickly, or in this games case, taking Stardew's heavy customisation and marketing it as a new thing. I used to look forward to the releases, it didn't bother me about the several year gap in between because I knew I was getting quality and hundreds of hours of playtime, Now however, it seems like i just can't keep up with the amount of farming sims dropping, hell Doraemon SOS literally dropped without me knowing and these games were my first gaming love in life besides pokemon and AC. Regardless I still love these games and I will buy them both but if Bokojo in particular don't up their game they may lose me as a long time fan. But I am trying hard to keep an open mind for both farming games in march, which one I prefer will be proven by my hour count on them I guess,
@KateGray Magical Melody is another one I really enjoyed.
This one looks good so far. I hope you get to review it! 😊
