Are all adverts going to start with things like "I'm so glad we get to bubble together" now, just to protect the company from COVID-related backlash? Well, Nintendo's new Switch advert for Super Mario Party does.
Featuring three women in a very fancy house, the ad shows off the co-operative and competitive games in Mario Party, plus a husband poking his head in to check why the gals are yelling so much. He's not invited, though, because apparently this is "games with the girls". They do know Mario Party can support up to four players, right?
In another ad, posted to the Nintendo YouTube channel an hour later, two women (different women) attempt to tidy up their extremely beautiful house while getting distracted by Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics. It's something we've all experienced, right? You're trying to hoover, but you just really want to play chess instead. No wonder it's one of the oldest games in existence. It's so damn addictive!
The two adverts are part of an American campaign called "Nintendo Switch My Way", which has also featured games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Minecraft, and Fortnite. One thing they all have in common is depicting friends and family having a grand old time with each other (and the Nintendo Switch) and not throwing Joy-Cons at each other's heads because one of them sold a fossil rather than giving it to Blathers. Isn't that how games are supposed to be played?

Clubhouse Games is like Nintendo Switch Game Pigeon
'NiNtEnDo SwItCh iS mY wAy To PlAy'
Has anyone experienced these situations?
I'd like a realistic Switch ad, just for comedy reasons. Lots of tea, jumpers and Zelda.
Every time I see an article mention Mario Party, I really crave a new Mario Party game on Nintendo Switch. I have put over 70 hours in the game, and have completed everything. I need a new one!
@Dpullam Same here! Nintendo, Super Mario Party is fun, but 4 boards can only entertain one for so long. Give us a new one, you know you want to!
@1ofUs I don't know why I laughed, but I did. Thanks.
Good job they haven't done one featuring overcooked - that game almost caused a divorce in my house and is now banned lol.
love both games. the bowling in club house is my favorite of the 51. there are about 35 of the 51 games that i play regularly . it and mario party are fun games indeed.
Mario Party would had been so much better with DLC and a better Multiplayer.
My video: It’s overtime, late at night, and neither NFL Super Bowl team is gaining ground. Mahomes, Brady, Arians, and Reid meet on the sidelines.
Mahomes, “We need another way to solve this. No one’s winning.”
Brady, “Only one way to figure this out. Coach?”
Reid, “Mario Party!” he says as he pulls out his Switch.
Arians, “Yeah!” Does the same.
Cue the video roll of the four of them playing Mario Party games, including showing how multiple switches can interconnect for some of the games. All four raise their arms in happiness.
Brady, “Now we’re all winners!”
Arians points at the screen.
Arians, “No! I clearly won! I won!”
Nintendo.
A lack of Mario Party DLC is one of the weirdest Nintendo moves of the Switch era. Would happily invest in new maps / modes / character packs or for a proper online experience.
Some people laugh but I have had stuff like this happen. Both before and even since the pandemic.
@Dpullam I would prefer a DLC expansion but I agree we need more.
@Juga
what the--- (dies laughing)
Mario Party. One of the three Nintendo franchises (with Animal Crossing and Pokemon) that I've just never had any interest in at all.
Switch Lite: 199.99
Switch: 299.99
Switch (????): 399.99
I'd pay for a big brother in the $399.99 spot....
My video for Clubhouse Games:
Two friends over the internet are getting down with their Switches in their bedrooms. One shakes it in the air. The other shakes it under his butt. Bringing lunch, the other kid’s mom walks in and is perplexed. The dice roll on screen.
“Four of a kind!” her kid excitedly yells. “I win!”
“Oh!” Mom’s relieved. “By boogity, that’s a game I can play.”
“By boogity?”
“Yes, dear. Now hand over the Switch.”
“By boogity!”
The kid hands over the Switch.
both cool games, but both cool games that dont give us enough options to customize rules
Mario Party was so lacking on the switch
The comment section for the Mario Party one is so salty lmao
