A new glitch has seemingly been discovered in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and it's linked to the latest DLC fighter Sephiroth.
Under the right conditions, the one-winged angel from Final Fantasy VII can break other character's Final Smash (and the animation of every single move, for that matter) - drastically lowering the damage of the normally devastating attack and altering the visual effects from time to time.
To activate this unique glitch, Sephiroth must defeat one of Pokémon Trainer's pocket monsters with his Shadow Flare attack. After this, opponent's Final Smash attacks will deal little to nothing in terms of damage.
Below is a look, courtesy of a YouTube video from Nintendo Unity:
"Let's see how a new glitch can lead to Sephiroth absolutely breaking every single Final Smash in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate."
Once again, this glitch requires some unique circumstances in order to be activated - so you likely won't encounter it in standard matches.
While we're sure it'll be sorted out by Masahiro Sakurai and his team at some stage, it shouldn't have any impact on the competitive side of the game - as Final Smash are not commonly used in tournament play.
What do you think of this odd glitch? Have you been playing as Sephiroth recently? Tell us below.

Incoming patch in 3, 2, 1...
At least it won't come up often, so a patch isn't a HUGE priority right away, but it'll definitely come.
This article isn’t precisely correct. It doesn’t just break Final Smash attacks. It breaks all attacks. It’s just most apparent on Final Smash attacks.
see guys. he's powerful just like he is in his actual game! Wonderful
It must be a nightmare to playtest any Smash game. The amount of unique interactions to take into account is off the charts compared to most other video games.
How appropriate, given the number of game-breaking glitches in FF7...
Not game breaking Unless you go into a team match with frendly fire on, then You got a real problem on your hands.
@Handy_Man in my personal experience it was quite fun but my ADHD made it pretty dull after a few weeks and I had to quit, however I was one of very few who was complaining. You just clock in, do what you can, and clock out. Very little stress.
I see all these glitches and I'm just thinking...
"...Nothing can top the infinite assist trophy glitch..." xD
He's supposed to be like that. XD
Patch Force! Go, go, go!
I heard he can inflict 99999% damage in reference to breaking the damage limit in Final Fantasy.
@Joeynator3000 I remember playing against some random in Brawl and he had infinite Latias and Latios from Pokeball flying across the Stage.
This actually really illustrates for me how overdone a lot of the effects are in this game. I almost prefer a lot of the glitched Final Smashes because I can actually tell what the hell is going on.
PPPPPPPATCH TIME
Poor Ivysaur and Charizard getting punished for the sake of showing Sephiroth's disregard for Final Smashes
Every other Smash fighter went to Weenie Hut Jr.'s ever sense Sephiroth joined the game...
“Now I shall bring Smash despair” would have been a great line for Monokuma to use if he was revealed.
Lucario’s becomes just violent farting.
Whelp, that's Sephiroth for ya.
