Sorry folks, another game has been delayed. This time it's The Lord of the Rings: Gollum - a story-driven action-adventure game based on J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novels.
The game was revealed for the Switch and multiple other platforms in August last year, and instead of arriving in 2021, has now been pushed back to 2022. NACON has now joined Daedalic Entertainment as a co-publisher and will take on the responsibility of distributing the game.
The two companies are also joining forces in order to ensure this upcoming release lives up to the expectations of fans of The Lord of the Rings and additionally, to fully leverage the power of new generation consoles.

Both parties promise to "faithfully represent" this classic universe, thanks to the partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises. In the game, you'll take control of Gollum. Here's what you can expect:
"Take on a perilous journey as Gollum, chasing the only thing that is precious to him. Climb, leap and sneak your way past dangers or into advantageous spots. Gollum is skillful and sly, but also torn by his split personality. It is up to you to decide whether the darker side of Gollum takes over or if there is a spark of reason left in what once was Sméagol."
How are you feeling about this delay? Will you be checking it out when it does finally arriving? Leave a comment down below.

It's to be expected in the current climate. As with most delays, it only serves to make a better game. Clearly he needs more time working on his ring.
I wonder if that'll be any good, I actually hadn't heard of it until now.
Take all the time you need, I had forgotten about it already.
Look forward to some decent gameplay in 2022
I'm fine with waiting If it means it well be better then heck ya, I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Can’t imagine much interest from a story perspective when everyone already knows his tale.
Ahh that explains the graphics then! I had no idea it was on Switch and thought it was a next-gen exclusive 😂😂
@nessisonett same here. I knew of it's existence, but had no clue it was coming to Switch.
This I'm okay with, we definitely need more good games than bad games now. The sheer amount of trash titles on the eShop, Steam, Xbox Game Store, and PSN are just astounding so having more good titles in the work would be a blessing.
I never even heard of this but im interested
It will probably be cancelled on Switch or it will get another cloud version.
I was actually looking forward to this, but I can wait it out. Gollum deserves a good game.

That's cause y'all were not here yet when they announced this game for Switch. Anyways welcome to NintendoLife.

this feels like something that would've been released on GameBoy, not mainstream gaming consoles of today
@Ghost_of_Hasashi not sure what the point of your comment is but okay
It has only been one month in 2021, and both the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings video games have been delayed into 2022 😬
Well that’s a shame, it’s high on my list of must plays.
Good. The last thing we need is another rushed buggy effort made under crunch by miserable people.
Now if they can resist the urge to make it nag me for money while I'm playing I might check it out on release.
I'll likely wait for it until I get a PS5 anyway
@nessisonett I came here for this lol. Had no idea it was confirmed for Switch...
Can We get a F in the Chat for Gollum
Better stable then no stability.....
I'm still not sold on the premise. I just don't see how Gollum makes for a good protagonist.
