Some good games there but I already have all the ones I'm interested in.
@BenAV any you could recommend? as there's little info in the article without clicking a buncha links
@BenAV @foodmetaphors
I too am curious as to which ones would be recommended the most?
@foodmetaphors Kamiko, Pan-Pan, and the Opus games are already great little games at great prices, so with those discounts they're absolute steals.
@foodmetaphors @rdrunner1178 Mostly pretty niche stuff so not too sure if there'd be any you're interested in as my tastes in games in general aren't really mainstream for the most part.
Deemo and VOEZ are the biggest standouts for me, both really good rhythm games. Lanota's a pretty good one too. All best played with touch screen controls.
WILL: A Wonderful World is an interesting VN. More emphasis on the novel than the visual part considering it's mostly just slabs of text but the story's interesting and it's fairly interactive as far as VNs go. Maitetsu: Pure Station is also a pretty decent VN but it's pure story with no gameplay.
Rabi-Ribi is a really fun metroidvania with fairly tough bullet hell-style boss battles but it's on the pricey side for an eShop game so it would have been nice if it was a bit more than 10% off.
Both OPUS games are interesting little experiences with a pretty big story focus. Rocket of Whispers the better of the two but they're completely different games and both quite interesting. Both short so the type of thing you can play in a day.
Fairune and SubaraCity are well worth picking up
@JimmySpades thanks. i got kamiko years ago and played it only a little but the OPUSes and pan-pan look pretty nice especially with such big discounts
Noted down quite a few of these yesterday - Will, Shelter Generations, World Tree Marche, Deemo and Fairune... but no telling if I'll ultimately pick any of these. Like I said before, the competition is expectedly ridiculous on holiday sales. At least, just like Kemco, both publishers pushed their deadlines to January 6, so they won't be competing with the December 31 cutoff avalanche (which could easily drain my funds by itself, especially since I'm getting a particular itch for a possible splurge on items like Dragon's Dogma and Ys Origin) - but they're still up against Blasphemous, Worms WMD, Regions of Ruin and Cattails (both within the same payday range) and others.
Then again, as a wise pegasus once said, "not a bad problem to have if you ask me".
@nhSnork Was postng some very similar thoughts at the same time as you. think Deemo's worth looking into. A few of the others have tickled my fancy in the past, but there have just been too many great sales lately. I've bought too many games and just need to stop. Certainly a good problem to have!
@BenAV thanks for the reply. rhythm and visual novel games aren't really my thing so I'll stick clear of them as there's already more games to play than I have time. picked up both OPUS games though as well as pan-pan
@JasmineDragon I mean, my Switch library is already over 560 titles and counting. Still worried about your hoarding instincts?😅
Deemo, Voez, Lanota - so many rhythm games alone still on my wishlist, too. But I'm particularly curious about Deemo indeed, it promises an interesting story and setting on top of the genre's default expectations.
I was hoping for a bigger discount on Rabi-Ribi. I've been wanting to play it, but not at that price.
@nhSnork Deemo's story is definitely a memorable experience that makes it stand out from other rhythm games. There's also the remake Deemo -Reborn- that released in the Japanese eShop this week and will probably reach the other regions before long but I can't comment on what it's like in comparison to the original yet.
@Dualmask Yeah, it's a good game but 10% off isn't really enough when its base price is so steep. I grabbed it this time last year when it was 30% off but it hasn't gone back down to that price since.
Kamiko and Fairune are great little games to pick up.
@BenAV I know the remake uses polygonal environments, but if that's the extent, I'll probably stick to the original. There's also a movie announced - they even got Yuki Kajiura on its main theme: https://youtu.be/uYZ_CAdMWIY
I recommend A Dark Room for those who want an unusual adventure for Switch!
@BenAV
Great! Thanks!
I can recommend slime tactics although its previous game ambition of the slimes is much better but they play differently with tactics being real time.
Would the mercenary saga games be worth it? I've been having a ff tactics itch and I've seen them scored rather average. Just curious.
I think I have just about ALL the games I want on that list. That amounts to 7 games. One remaining on my wishlist is Cytus which I may get despite having Deemo and Voez already. It's still a tad high even with 40% off though.
Having said all that, I may take a deeper look at the others now there is a decent sale (eg. OPUS, WILL, Shadows etc).
Shame Rabi-Ribi is only 10% off. Meant to be decently rated on the Switch.
Shadow of Adam is the one I'm interested in for now, have a few of the others already.
I’ve got a few off the list. My recommendations are Pan Pan a short but clever little puzzle adventure. Kamiko is like a bite sized fast paced take on vintage Zelda games, it’s one of daughters favorites amusingly a game that you can beat in an hour is 3rd on my switch for time played. Implosion is a pretty solid little action game with a cool sci-fi aesthetic.
I've been waiting for Friends of Ringo Ishikawa and Shadows of Adam to hit below $10 for a while now, so I will look to scoop those up. Arrest of a Stone Buddha is near $10, so I "might" go ahead and pick it up. In other slightly off topic news, I see Star Ocean is 40% off, nice.
I highly recommend VOEZ. Great rhythm game.
Sigh, I was really hoping to have bought these sooner. Time for a game time decision...
