Rivals of Aether is probably as close to a 2D version of Super Smash Bros. as you can get but at the same time offers its own take on the brawler genre with stunning artwork and fast and frentic fights.
If you've been waiting for a physical release on the Switch, the good news is Limited Run Games has now announced one - featuring a reversible cover. In addition to this, it'll also be offering a Collector's Edition. This comes with art cards, a soundtrack on CD, a Kragg vinyl figure and Sylvling and Sunny Plushies. Of course, there's also a copy of the game. Take a look below:
Pre-orders will open next week on 11th December and there'll be a four week window to secure your own copy of the game. Will you be adding this upcoming physical release to your Switch library? Leave a comment down below.

Absolutely get this game!!! One of my most favorites ever; it's so smooth and fun
Nice, I was hoping for a physical release not long after its news of a Switch release.
In how many games did Shovel Knight show up by now?
And how many of them are fighters?
Not complaining, definitely not, just asking. If anything, I love it.
@Shambo
Well there's Blade Strangers, Bounty Battle, Rivals of Aether, arguably Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 as a bonus boss fight behind his amiibo, as fighting is concerned.
Plus way too many other cameos to count off the top of my head.
@Bizaster Why not? Is it that they take a long time to fulfill their orders?
@Bizaster
The reason for that is that you're placing orders for items to be manufactured.
Under the old model they'd manufacture limited numbers in most items and that was it.
Under the current open pre-order model, they accept orders for two or four weeks, then manufacturing takes place.
@Shambo Let's see
Fraymakers
Rivals of Aether
Super Smash Bros
Indie Pogo
Blade Strangers
Brawlhalla
I think that's all of them
@Bizaster I'm with you 100%. My biggest issue with Limited Run is here in the US they also sell through Best Buy, but you never know which releases they are going to stock. Its a total guessing game. I wish for once Limited Run would be consumer friendly and actually announce these things ahead of time. Oh.....and they over charge on shipping....
Will probably just get it at Best Buy like the many other Limited Run releases so far.
I was hoping for this since the day ROA was confirmed for Switch.
I'll get it for the plushies.
