Last month, it was revealed a few of Grasshopper Manufacture's older games would be released on the Nintendo Switch in a two-in-one package.
One is the 1999 mystery adventure visual novel The Silver Case and the other is the sequel The 25th Ward: The Silver Case. Both of these games were some of Suda51's earliest work
Publisher Playism has now released the debut trailer for this package titled The Silver 2425, which arrives in Japan on 18th February next year. Take a look below:
There's no word on western release just yet, but both titles have previously been localised on the PlayStation 4 and PC. For more information about The Silver 2425, see our existing post.

When you can’t even get through the whole trailer, you know it’s not a game for you... 😮
Glad to see support though, as always!
Keep em coming!!!!
I'm always down for a good visual novel game so something to keep an eye out for. Looks like the Japanese version doesn't include English support I don't think so importing sadly isn't an option, just gotta hope for a Western release.
Both games are superb, loved them on PC. The more people who can experience them, the better.
One of the weirdest visual novels I've ever read. But I liked it.
Holy **** yes please!!
Heart stopped thinking this was a second announcement for the western release
Odd it came out worldwide on PC, US first on PS4, and comes out in Japan first on Switch.
If the PS4 EN to JP version is anything to go about, we’ll probably get a western version in late 2021/early 2022.
@TimboSlice hopefully it's popular enough we get some of his newer games ported
I remember waiting for The Silver Case to come out on the DS but that ended up not happening.
Could we get Killer 7 and Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 next please?
I played the Silver Case and was pretty disappointed. I thought flower, sun and rain was the better game, and even that I'd struggle to recommend.
"There's no word on western release just yet"
Aw man, that's annoying. I had assumed opening this article that it would have a worldwide release. I've had my eye on the PS4 releases for a while, but the price has been climbing recently and I would rather wait for the Switch collection. Hopefully they announce a Western release soon.
I really hope we get a physical version in the west
Uhmmm....!? What did i just watch?
I'm sure they'll get brought across! I already have them on Steam but they'd be great on Switch, for all those that don't have a PC
This looks a little odd but very stylish I would much prefer killer 7 on switch
Lets go NISA, make it happen.
@Wargoose I fall into the same camp.
Im a big Suda Fan as well as a fan of VNs.
Heck Id put up with the otome dating if the VN has a good story (playing through Collar X Malice)
But I was really disapointed by the silver case so much I passed on the sequal.
I did play through it all so I gave it the chance for it to pick up.
But if as a Suda + VN fan......I find it hard to recommend.
Only ever played Let It Die, which... well, it sucked, but a lot of their games have attracted my attention over the years. It'd be incredible to see everything from them come to the Switch. ESPECIALLY Fatal Frame IV. Make it happen, Nintendo!
@Ralizah
Yeah Let it Die isn't that great. I'd say Grasshopper's best games are the below.
Killer7 - interesting on rails shooter, mixed with resident evil style puzzles. Art style is great, and the story is really unique. It's like watching a film with half the scenes missing.
No More Heroes - fun action game, the game is really meta, in a clever way. The sequel plays better, but isn't as smart and feels a bit by the numbers.
Shadows of the Damned - I'd say this is their best game from a gameplay stand point. It plays like Resident Evil 4 set in hell.
Lollipop Chainsaw - No More Heroes, but you play as a cheerleader. Quite a fun game, not amazing, but entertaining from start to finish.
I haven't played fatal frame 4 but I'd love to, really like maiden of blackwater.
I had a very good time with Let It Die.
I won't hold my breath for a physical western release but at least Japan is due for one as preorders are already up, but we will only know for sure whether or not the Japanese version holds the English script once the Japanese eShop listing goes up (just checked, it's not up yet).
But since the English script already exists for these games, I don't see why they should release a version of the software in Japan first with no English, only to update it for us later. There's hope I think!
