Takeharu Ishimoto, composer on the original The World Ends With You soundtrack, has revealed that he'll be returning to work on the newly announced Neo: The World Ends With You.
The original game, and indeed the Remix version now available on Switch, is perhaps most remembered for its striking visuals and soundtrack. The music plays a big part in the overall experience of the original, so we imagine fans of the series will be thrilled to hear that the new game is in very capable hands.
Ishimoto announced his involvement with the project on Twitter:
Of course, Ishimoto's no stranger to the world of game music composition outside of The World Ends With You. He was formerly employed at Square Enix and has worked on series such as Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts in recent years.
If you missed the official announcement trailer for Neo: The World Ends With You, make sure to give that a watch here. The new game is planned to launch on Switch next summer.

I'm not sure why but VGM plays the biggest part in my fascination for the medium as art.
I haven't played the first game yet but I'm glad for the long time fans. I always heard good reviews on the game's OST
Really glad to see this. The soundtrack to TWEWY is one of the few I've actually imported due to how incredibly awesome it was.
Excellent news, the first game's soundtrack was incredible and I expect no less from the sequel.
great , now make it without dlc
Hell yeah dude!
Loving the use of deliberately exaggerated perspective in a 3D world. Really requires that you know what you're simulating, what you're NOT simulating, and what you want to say with it.
Oh thank goodness! Seems like this game's in good hands.
calling...someone is calling
@xshinox Little by little, I feel a bit better.
