Developer Crytek has shared a brand new video for Crysis Remastered, which just so happens to be launching on Nintendo Switch next week.
The video takes a look at some of the tech being utilised to make the game run as well as it can on Nintendo's portable console. Apparently, the game will feature "high-quality textures, global illumination (SVOGI), vegetation bending, optimized dynamic light settings, dynamic resolution, gyro aiming, motion blur, bloom (light rays and sunbeams) and much more", which all sounds very fancy indeed.
Despite being delayed on other platforms, Crysis Remastered will still be available on the Switch eShop starting from 23rd July. The game will only take up 6.2GB of free space, so you should hopefully be able to squeeze it onto your micro SD card without too much trouble.
Are you thinking of buying this next week? Does this new trailer convince you, or are you still on the fence? Let us know with a comment below.

If it runs well and the gyro aiming works well, I might grab it once it goes on sale.
Man this game looks smooth. Not my type of game sadly, but seriously, this ones probably one of the best looking game on switch.
Gyro and Sharks?! I’m in
Youtube always lowers graphical fidelity a bit so keep that in mind.
That said I really prefer 60 fps over 30 with shooters, but being full singleplayer I don’t mind it THAT much.
Hmm PS4 or Switch...
I’m LOVING Borderlands on switch. It’s perfect for the switch with it’s short missions and plays well. This looks great too. I’m tempted to hold off buying this whilst I play through Borderlands the sequel and pre sequel - if it was physical I’d already have it ordered. I am tempted though.
@BrintaPap PC... Mouse and Keyboard 😋
Think im getting this. Will wait for the reviews.
@BrintaPap my honest opinion- switch - there are so many FPS and similar on PS4 - when I have an option I’ll go for switch. That being said price and whatever can play a factor.
If you watch closely you'll see the UI in the corners is quite blurry due to YouTube compression, so the final rendition might be even better than this (on portable mode at least)!
It actually looks very sharp. I like it. However, it'd be nice to see how good it looks and runs on handheld, because apparently this is on TV footage.
@BrintaPap Switch! How else are you going to bend some vegetation while dropping the kids off.
Actually looks like a magic port.
I'm glad to see it's turning out great, and I'm probably going to get it sooner or later. I'd prefer a physical release, and 30 for a download is too much. But I'm looking forward to when it will be available on my terms, within my budget.
@beazlen1 I don’t have kids hahaha! I can still waste all my money on other things.
@yuwarite don’t have good enough pc to do this game justice and I’m saving for PS5. I’m a teacher so I do not need a new pc for work.
@Stocksy I just hate the Switch tax on all games that have them. Also I like achievements on PS4’s system
Were hoping for higher then 720 docked. Ill wait for in depth-reviews, wont buy it if its considerable lower then 720p in handheld mode
I recently played the original on my new gaming laptop, and these improvements do really help the look of the game.
Holy moly!!! That looks amazing, didnt expect it like this. Now i want this game even more!!!
This is looking hopeful, looks like a solid effort for sure....
This looks awesome. I prefer playing at home and then outside home at my local cafe than 3 more pixels here and there sitting on my office chair forever and ever.
@BrintaPap if it’s constant 30, it’s all good. Played bioshock and metro and both were spot on.
Looks good and it's at a good advantage since it'll be the first version out. 😊
Definitely getting this!
I love the switch for FPS satisfye gaming grip and gyro 🥰
Sharks won it for me
If the first review that releases doesn't say the game runs like complete garbage, then I'll buy it day one.
GYRO AIMING! Ok I'm sold
@BrintaPap it's only releasing on switch on july 23rd, all the others platforms have been delayed
Looking good, makes one wonder why the likes of The Outer Worlds looked like hot trash.
I'll wait for Digital Foundry to pick this apart before I delve in.
@BrintaPap when I said dropping the kids off, what I meant was taking a dump, haha. Anyway this looks smooth and right up my street. So far I’ve enjoyed Doom, Wolfenstein 2 and the Metro games immensely and I’m hoping this will be more of the same.
Pretty cool effects. If the actual game is good, I'll probably get it once it goes on sale. I can wait on the vegetation bending for now.
@echoplex
Doom and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 look way worse in handheld mode than in docked.
I think this looks great. It just should be a bit cheaper. When talking about last gen ports, Borderlands and Bioshock nailed the pricing.
£26, looks fine to me.
Question is how low does Dynamic resolution actually go. Aiming down A barrel at 540p is awful.
Looks pretty good but I'll wait for DF to do their thing. Also I'll be waiting on a sale.
@nathatruc Yeah, but the other platforms get the actual remastered version. Something for @BrintaPap put in the +/- columns with trophies and so on.
Vegetation bending??? Wow, take my money now.
Does this game have multiplayer or is it single player only? Dont care either way but would be nice if it had.
Again looks amazing, besides all the nonsense feed back saying the Switch can't handle this game. Seeing that video, go eat your words, the switch is more than capable obviously.
It's only 6gbs? What is this sorcery?
Looking good. It's a fun game. I already played the original on PC, but I'm happy for all the first-timers on Switch.
It doesn't reach the heights of the Halo franchise, Half-Life 2, or STALKER, in terms of 2000s shooters, but it holds its own.
If there was a physical release I would have purchased this day one but since it seems to only be digital I'll wait for a discount. I'm glad they added gyro support.
Looks good. Another feather in the Switch's cap.
Yes I will be. First day
Looks great! I wish there was a physical release with everything on the cartridge, but I'll be playing this either way. Yes, I vastly prefer 60fps, especially for shooters (look at Doom 64, Turok, etc they look totally beautiful in motion!), but this will still be fun at 30fps...
It looks really good - like Sabre have pulled out all the stops again. £26.99 seems like a reasonable starting point too.
This looks really promising. I'm going to get it for sure.
Never had the chance to play it before.
Played this on PC back in the day in it's proper 12fps stop-motion glory. This smooth play...this isn't Crysis....everyone worth their salt knows Crysis plays like a rotoscope.
Yeah, looks like Saber did a great port job here(as they did with Witcher 3). Definitely getting this, kinda cool that Switch is getting it first.
@BrintaPap switch
Switch version looks a generation ahead of 360/PS3 version no doubt.

I might get this day one, it checks all the boxes for me. My only question now is if the gyro is truly 1:1 like Splatoon 2 or if it's like Wolfenstein where the aim artificially drifted a little after a short while, I guess to simulate "realism".
Some people will complain just about everything, 30fps for switch isn't bad, also the game looks great at least from what i am seeing, let's all hope it's a solid 30fps though. Once it looks good too on handheld will be a bonus. Play my switch 90% handheld and 10% on television most times. Will likely get the ps4 remastered as well.
I don’t know much about this game, but that looks pretty awesome
@Rpg-lover it's 30fps on PS4 and Xbox one also but 1080p instead of 720p
okay i'm sold with this
Have it preordered since last week. I can’t wait!
@BrintaPap why not both?
You guys kidding me? The tree falling over Video for literally 3sec video and now this for a few more seconds. How is excited. Hilariously terrible. I’ve never seen previews this short.
Is this digital only?
While the tech is still impressive, the game itself is also still impressively anonymous in its visual expression.
@CTmatic
It's two whole minutes.
The game is thirteen years old.
What exactly were you hoping to see?
@Jester151
Sorcery of the game being thirteen years old and originally released on a regular single-layer DVD. ^^
Very nice job. Not sure if I’ll buy it but it looks like a good port.
Im putting it on the Watch list, will prob buy some day when on at least 20% sale
So anyone saying the Switch couldn't run The Outer Worlds because it wasn't powerful enough are strangely quiet right now.
@Rpg-lover
Yeah me too, mostly handheld, just 10% television.
High quality games i play mostly on my pc. Mostly first or third person shooters.
But this game i really want on my switch.
