I just couldn't get into Dragon ball fighters. I don't regret the purchase, the game just doesn't click withe for some reason. I'm bad at combos I guess and auto combos aren't optimal.
Imagine people who bought it full price less than a week ago. As much as I love sales like these, it makes it impossible to justify a full price purchase except for games that never get a big discount like Zelda or Mario.
That's a steal. If I had more time to play this game, I'd buy it at that price. My backlog is too massive to justify many new game purchases.
I have the standard edition on PS4 but haven’t put in much time for it. This does seem like a good deal though.
@Rhaoulos I'll pay full price for a game if it's something I really want to play at launch, otherwise I just throw everything I'm interested in on my wish list and grab them when they're discounted. Doubt there are too many people paying full price for this at this point in its life.
I purchased this game months ago and I regret it. The game looks great and plays great in handheld mode, feels like watching the anime but the loading times are so long it ruins everything :/
Proof you should never buy games full price ... as I’ve just picked up the physical Streets of Rage 4 🤦🏼♂️
Hate me if you want, but I’ve never watched dragon ball. Should I get this? I like fighter games, but will I understand it?
@Kalmaro To me the game is annoying while you progress. You select a difficulty and suddenly the CPU is way stronger and you get beaten. If I play at normal level I expect in later levels it stays the same as in beginning. But it's like Mortal Kombat.. the higher you get the stronger the CPU is even if the mode is on lower. Totally ignored. I disliked it after it and was unplayble for me. I chose for a reason to play on normal difficulty and I was not amused by it
Buy it homies. Love the game, awesome deal.
FYI, it doesn't come with all fighter z packs, just the first one.
Guilty Gear games for me.
@graysoncharles Why is it baffling? It's pretty uncommon for games to get permanent price drops.
Nice, time to pick up FighterZ pass 2!
Man, fighting games are expensive, once you buy all the passes. I’m glad I waited for SFV Champion Edition dropped for $25, all the season passes + the base game were just way too much.
@WickedUnicarnBoi me neither, but I think I like the look of this best out of all the 1 on 1 fighting games available. Or that Under Night In Birth. I'll pick up one of those eventually.
Ooh, I was waiting for Central Fiction to go on sale.
Is fighterz worth getting if you have no interest in dragon Ball but love fighters?
I’ve seen the standard version on sale for $15 a few tike before but getting the Ultimate Edition $27.50 is really amazing. Think I’ll finally pull the trigger on it this time.
@graysoncharles I don't think it's more common than I think. Some games (usually smaller eShop ones) get permanent discounts here and there but it's a pretty small minority of games on the eShop. Even less likely to happen with a full retail game. Most just take the approach of maintaining the original price with discounts from time to time, generally getting bigger over time. Which makes more sense than a permanent discount as there'd probably be a decent spike in sales each time with temporary ones.
And the price still isn't worth it
@PapaMurphy I agree it does look pretty nice. Doing some research it seems like you don’t have to have any knowledge about dragon ball to enjoy it, you might just not understand some of the references.
@Zochmenos aye, but it's one on one at any time in the game right?
I bought it at full price when it released xD Got all the dlc packs during a sale (some anime song packs too, cant stand the music of these games in America). I'm not salty, it's the price you pay when you want to have a game as soon as possible though it does make me think how to buy these kind of games in the future
Can anyone clarify how many season passes are there on the ultimate edition? Or how many season passes does it lack before you can say that you have all the characters available at the moment?
Meh. They'll probably release a "Complete Edition" with ALL dlc at some point — physical, for $30. Then I'll wait for THAT version to drop to $20 and finally pick up this game.
That's the game plan these days for third parties. I've been burned by being an early adopter before but won't happen again.
@Spanish_Bread comes with 1, lacks 2 and they are around 20 a piece. It's not ultimate
@BenAV I get what you're saying and I'll always put everything aside and buy the next Zelda or Xenoblade Chronicles day one (unless it's X2 because XCX sucked). Also it depends on how much you make. I wouldn't give a hoot about the price if I was a millionaire or if I had daddy's credit card.
But for most game I am looking forward to, I check my backlog to see if I have games I am happy to play. The most expensive non-Nintendo game I have played recently were Persona 5R and red dead redemption 2 for ~£30 (thanks 3Camel). I strictly stick to my wishlist when it comes to sales and buy at a price that fits my priorities or think twice before pre-ordering a game or paying full price because I don't want to pay £50 for a turd like Mario Tennis because I was dumb enough to trust NL's ***** review (never again, Metacritic is the way to go)
Please play this game
I'm tempted, but I think I'll wait for a version with all of Season 3 characters. I've waited this long to play the game, I can wait another year.
I don't even like fighting games in general, but I love me some Dragonball. I love recognizing the references and seeing the detail that the devs put it this game. Many moves, not just the special moves, come from the manga or anime.
I have actually already downloaded literally everything on that list above bar the original Guilty Gear. I may now rectify that to get 100% completion.
FighterZ is aces.
Both Guilty Gears were under 1€ on the Japanese EShop und DBZ was much cheaper there too some time ago.
there shouldn't ask $110 for a digital game anyway. I payed $98 for Nintendo DSi XL with Pokemon Black bundle (late on its cycle ofc)
@doctorhino thanks a lot! I've been eyeing this game for months, but once in a while I'm getting updates that it is getting more & more characters, so a part of me is saying, "wait for the last version where all dlc are included" lol
@Zochmenos I get you buddy, I'm still a noob to this whole scene, I don't always use the right terminology.
The Ultimate edition...and it is still not the complete game. I will pass.
