UK chart data is now in for the week ending 11th July, revealing that Animal Crossing: New Horizons is back up into second place.
The game managed to sneak ahead of PS4's The Last of Us Part II this week, also keeping some of Switch's other most popular titles - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Minecraft - safely behind it. This week's number one goes to F1 2020, a new release which sold best on PS4.
Elsewhere, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town debuted in 21st place, while Switch's other newcomer, Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise made it in 32nd. Regular UK chart watchers will be amazed to see that FIFA 20 isn't anywhere near the top ten, falling all the way to 36th this week!
Here's a look at this week's top ten all formats chart:
Last Week | This Week | Title |

That’s pretty good.
Last of Us is doing well for a single-player story game after a month on release. Doubt it will stick around the top 10 as long as some of Nintendo's finest, but tip of the hat to Sony for continuing to prove the naysayers wrong that there's room and demand in the market for single-player games that aren't stuffed with microtransactions.
Wait, Friends of Mineral town is out? I thought it came out tomorrow?
@Heavyarms55 It comes out tomorrow in North America. It came out on the 10th in Europe/Australia.
Wow, four single platform, Nintendo Switch exclusive titles make up almost half of the UK Top10.
I bought ACNH since 27 June 2020 and got addicted so much.
I have played for 120 hours within 15 days.
Absolutely great Animal Crossing game.
And also, my ACNH is Europe version.
@KoopaTheQuick EA better hurry up and re-release the exact same game again so they can all buy it for the 100th time.
@KoopaTheQuick Fifa 21 is coming soon, so people are waiting.
only in the UK Luigis Mansion 3 remains in the top 10 chart
Luigi's Mansion 3 sold more than FIFA. Therefore Weegee Haunted House Thrice is better... For now.
I love the fact that LM3 is still selling in the UK. These longs legs must convince the big N that a sequel is worth it. They could even branch out a little and do another Luigi centred game. How about Luigi’s F-ZERO or Luigi’s PILOTWINGS or Luigi’s ETERNAL DARKNESS or Luigi’s 1080 or Luigi’s WAVE RACE or Luigi’s EXCITEBIKE or Luigi’s PIKMIN or Luigi’s EARTHBOUND. I need a sit down
Surely there cant be anyone left that doesn't own a copy of GTAV and MK8?!?! 🤣
Tlou2 slowly disappearing
It'll be interesting to see which does better out of Paper Mario and Ghost of Tsushima next week.
@fox_mattcloud the only thing I can think is that folks buying a Switch to play AC buy MK8D as a second game.
It's sad to see that AC is nearly 4 months old and nothing from Nintendo came in between 😑
It's been a dry season for me so far.
@beazlen1 lol loved your comment.
You forgot Luigi's Diddy Kong Race!
Love how GTA V is still beating around in the Top 10 after it's 2013 release.
It would have been in first place if not for Nintendo removing the camera glitch.
@tourjeff Oh yes of course Luigi’s Diddy Kong Racing!! That probably would have been the end of me though, I get very frustrated and even angry sometimes when I think about all those amazing yet dormant IPs. I need another sit already.
@Grumblevolcano
Ghosts of Tsushima will do better, and by a large margin (4-5×).
Not like that matters though given how wildly different both games are.
Argos ran put of Bravely Second stock, which means it has dropped out pf the Top 40 entirely after 2 weeks of it being in the Top 3 😆
@beazlen1 what's more frustrating is that some of these games would be perfect fillers, tell me what did we have between AC and now from Nintendo? Nothing memorable that I can remember.
Just the board games collection but that's all?
And, in my view, these are not games that would require a lot of time & resources to be made.
It's crazy to think that none of these IPs appeared on the Switch yet.
@rockodoodle Seems to be the case from my FB friends that are their new Switch accounts to FB.
@tourjeff paper Mario is a filler, IMO. This is the fifth one in less than a decade, albeit some are remakes.
🏎 Loving F1 2020 🏎 glad it did well (🏁Great F1 race yesterday made me want to play more) It is also only $36 on PC
Deadly Premonition 2 at nowhere land #32. Most did not buy the "Broken game is charming" nonsense. Shocking!
By next Weekend I'll have F12020, Ghost of Tsushima and Paper Mario. Now that is a gaming weekend 😃😎
@rockodoodle yeah, I suppose it is but my point before was that after AC, released about 4 months ago, we only had clubhouse as a filler from Nintendo, at least this is the only game I can remember and I'm not counting the pokemon DLC.
So it's been a very slow year and, now, I have doubts that it will be better on the second half of the year.
@tourjeff 2020 Nintendo games so far has been:
January - Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore
March - Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX, Animal Crossing New Horizons
May - Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition
June - Clubhouse Games
July - Paper Mario Origami King
Some of the gaps were filled in with DLC (like Fire Emblem in February, Smash in January and June, etc.) but for the most part, Switch has been on the quiet side this year. Also no Nintendo games have a release date after Paper Mario so something will likely happen this week whether a Direct announcement or a Paper Mario style announce out of nowhere reveal.
