Leave it to SNK to give us lesser known character as guest fighter for their game. They could had easily just put in Akari from Last Blade or Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury but nope had to be a nobody from a no name game. Also what's up with Samurai Shodown and the word honor anyways? Seems like SNK is trying to find any character from a game with the word honor in the title. So what's next a guerilla fighter from Medal of Honor?

As for who the next character will be, I don't really know how high his popularity was, nor did I even play him much, but I hope they release Andrew from SamSho 6 at some point, elsewhere he'd be a one and done throw away character... I actually kinda liked his character design

Appreciate the free character, but it would have been better to get an actual Samurai Shodown character. Genan or Cham Cham would have been great.

I still hold that Tencent is a real world version of SPECTRE. You can't escape.

That would fit better in a Soul Calibur game, not in this.

@jobvd I've got the PS4 version. It's a pretty well made fighter, as in it plays well, it's got a good move set, and like many SNK fighters, learning the special moves takes some effort. You won't get very far randomly mashing buttons like in Tekken. But it's light on content. The roster is small, and it's got a simple single player campaign light a 16-bit fighter. That is, fight every character, fight a boss, the end. There's not much to keep you coming back unless you just want to fight random people in online matches.

Everyone seems to gloss over the "Free DLC Character" aspect of this. Honestly, any free dlc character is good for those who want more variety in the roster.

@jobvd people complain about the netcode all the time, I don't know anything about it because I own it on my Switch and use WiFi so I figure it's better if I don't even try. But I'm still having fun with single player and (rarely) local versus.

The game has a slow, patient neutral, but winning neutral once can net you like 70% of a life bar. The damage is nuts. Or you can disarm your opponent and get a huge advantage.

10/10, if you already own it definitely give it a try.

Some people are suggesting it's gonna be a bunny girl named Gong Sun Li.

I don't know anything about Honor of Kings and I intend to keep it that way. Which means I'll have no frame of reference for this character and they might as well be original content. I hope they integrate it as well as they did for Warden. If so I will like it.

Apparently Tencent have been sniffing around SNK's owner Leyou. This seems to indicate the worst case scenario..

HoK/AoV is that game that has over 200 million players with over 10 million active daily still? You may not know that character but there are millions that do.

@Entrr_username Yeah but the difference between that and Samurai Shodown was that TMNT Smash-Up wasn't a good deep fighting game to begin with and was literally just a one time Smash Bros. clone. The only reason it include the three rabbids was cause it was published by UbiSoft and the rabbids were popular and already in their own games at the time. It make sense to include the rabbids for TMNT Smash-Up, for Samurai Shodown though it just makes no sense cause like most of us said they had literally better alternative guest fighters, basic legacy fighters, or other fighters they could had include and they gave us these two instead.

@retro_player_77 I get that. But I was referring to when they said "lamest guest characters ever in a fighting game". IMO, those Rabbids "guest fighters" can not be topped.

To be real honest, many companies are spying on us. Yeah, even good old Nintendo. I am sure our Switches are already spyware-havens. But Tencent is said to be extra nasty. I'll keep away from them for as long as possible.
