Update (Thu 4th Jun, 2020 13:40 BST): Epic Games has announced that the planned launch of Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 3 has been pushed back further. Epic says it needs "to balance the Season 3 launch with time for the team to focus on themselves, their families, and their communities" following current worldwide events.

"The live event The Device will be delayed to Monday, June 15, and the Season 3 launch delayed to Wednesday, June 17. We know this delay comes on the heels of another one, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult times."


Original Article (Thu 28th May, 2020 16:15 BST): Excited for the next season of Fortnite to begin? Well, we now have a new confirmed start date for Chapter 2 - Season 3, and you won't have much longer to wait.

Epic Games has confirmed that the new season will now begin on Thursday, 11th June, following several delays likely owing to the effects of the new coronavirus. The season was originally planned to begin on 30th April, before being pushed back to June.

The news comes from a post shared to Epic's official website, where it says that Season 2 will be extended by one week "in an effort to get everything ready" for the new season.

That's not all, though, as the next one-time-only live event - 'The Device' is now scheduled to take place on Saturday, 6th June at 2pm ET. Epic Games says that you should try to login 30 minutes early to ensure you get a spot.
