Yesterday, while a lot of other video game companies were joking about, the Shantae developer WayFoward actually released Cat Girl Without Salad: Amuse Bouche on the Switch eShop for $7.99 USD.

This title originally started out as an April Fool's gag in 2013 and was later brought to life on PC. It combines classic 2D shoot-'em-up gameplay with a "hilarious story" and features weapons inspired by game genres such as puzzle, sports, rhythm and RPGs. Here's more about the story:

Blast everything that moves in this genre-defying action extravaganza! Take control of Kebako, a cat-eared intergalactic bounty hunter, as she patrols the galaxies with her faithful companion Squiddie in search of ridiculous space criminals.

The game includes side-scrolling action, a wide variety of enemies, multiple boss battles and plenty of non-stop character banter. Below are some screens, and above is the trailer. Will you be trying this one out? Leave a comment below.
