Friends of Nintendo Life and EGX event organisers, Gamer Network and ReedPOP, have today announced that EGX: Rezzed 2020 has been officially cancelled.
The event was to take place at Tobacco Dock, London from 2nd to 4th July, but with ongoing concerns surrounding the current coronavirus pandemic still very much present in the UK, the show sadly cannot go on. Here's a message from Gamer Network and ReedPOP:
The effects, actual and projected, of Coronavirus are becoming evident across all aspects of our lives here in the UK and across the world, with many of our exhibitors and creators facing travel restrictions and quarantine measures. After extensive discussions with all the relevant public health, local and national authorities, and with our Rezzed partners, we have taken the decision not to go ahead with this year’s event.
We thank everyone who has prepared to deliver what promised to be a fantastic event over the past year, showcasing the best of indie gaming to the incredible Rezzed community.
At present, the flagship EGX event is still currently scheduled to take place this September, running from the 17th to the 20th. Anyone who purchased a ticket to EGX Rezzed will automatically have their ticket upgraded for the main event this September, but are also entitled to a full refund if they prefer. This can be arranged by sending an email to [email protected] with your order number.

so done with this virus
Not going to happen in September either.
Yeah... I don’t think EGX is happening either somehow. Even if we are lucky enough to get this all completely handled by September (which is incredibly optimistic), events such as conventions will one of the last things to go back to normal, along with cinemas, football games and other mass gatherings of non-familiar people.
In addition to that... the venue will also be a bit... grim?
I wish they still did the the show at the NEC - oh well...
