Marvelous Europe has revealed that the western release of Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town will launch on Switch this summer. You'll be able to pick it up from 10th July.
The game, which is a remake of Game Boy Advance title Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, will be available both physically and digitally when it arrives in a few months' time. The release date news comes alongside a brand new trailer (above) and we also have an official description to share with you.
This long-awaited return to one of the most beloved entries in the original farm/life simulation franchise, known in Japan as Bokujo Monogatari, is also the first mainline title in the series to be released for the Nintendo Switch platform. Reimagined with High Definition visuals, and brought to life with improved controls and character engagement, STORY OF SEASONS: Friends of Mineral Town on the Nintendo Switch will let series fans revisit the charming world of Mineral Town, while also introducing it to a new generation of farmers. In this peaceful setting, players will grow crops, take care of animals, and build relationships with villagers.

Then there is hope for Story of Seasons Magical Melody?? Fingers crossed 🤞🤞
Yay...!! 😃
(Saw PEGI 12)
Just like i have expected... 😏
(Saw same gender marriage)
Yippee...!!! 😍😋
So, i can play as Boy and WooHoo the bachelors. 😁
I'm thinking who will be my husbando...
@Drac_Mazoku Aye, I hate the artstyle. It looks so bad
Looks like a fun time waster.
Loved the original but can't see myself picking this up. If they had gone for a more hand drawn or interesting looking 2D style instead of this rudimentary and bland 3D one I would have probably picked it up.
Just started to play Doraemon Story of Seasons, which has a MUCH better visual style imho. So I guess I'll stick to that one (even though I LOVED the GBC original which I got for Christmas together with the Game Boy Colour and I still remember my grandma giving me advice on crops ^^)
Finally some awesome news. So excited to play this on Switch.
@Cevil Nah, no new games are on the way.
@Varkster
But i like the 3D Remake instead of the 2D style.
It doesn't look terrible after all.
It looks cute for me.
All these games look exactly the same to me.
0 interest.
Many people on here criticizing the art style choice and I agree. At this point, regardless of your history, you end up looking like a clone of the 10000000000 other similar games.
You need to stand out and not just bank on nostalgia.
Why would someone not familiar with you pick this up?
Stardew over this? HARD PASS.
I just...I just want a wonderful life remade (and somebody to do a hack so I can play as a female and marry a female)as Nami is still my favorite spouse over all.
That being said I'll likely get this eventually... the cowies look fluffy. I'm ready for a new entry. As much as Stardew valley feels "off" for me, it has some modern aspects that I wish Marvelous would copy.
Edit: I don't get the artstyle complaints. Looks like a 3d version of a lot of the Bokumono art. Look at the cows on the box of trio of towns, they look like fluff with horns. And the npcs/protag have been SD in previous games and somewhat invoke the original SNES game's art.
Edit: same sex marriage is in. This just moved up to day 1.
I've never played any of the original HM or SoS games, so I'm excited for this.
This game was awesome back in the day. But I feel like I'm being swamped with these kinds of games (choice is not necessarily a bad thing!)
I'm still deep into Rune Factory 4 Special, and then animal crossing this week... I may have to wait a while before picking this up too!
I really look forward to this one. It's one of the few gba titles I played non-stop 😃
I played More Friends of Mineral Town(the girl version) because that's what I had. I'll never forget chopping wood while pregnant while my husband stood around and did nothing! Good times.
Maybe I'll pick this up.
I was waiting for this, but I'm kind of shocked it's coming out that soon. I figured it would be a Sept/Oct title. Not a huge fan of the art style on the characters, but gosh darn it do the bubble cows look adorable!
Looking forward to this! I hope Xseed annouced the NA release date soon!
I am really, really over the fence about this one.
Not a big fan of the artstyle but it doesn't look that bad either.
Friends of Mineral Town brings so good feelings to me, personally it is a very special and important game. I have the fondest feelings for it. Sinking hours and hours while chilling on the hammock during the summer days of my childhood (when I wasn't playing with the other kids)... Man how I love this game!
I'm over 100 hours in Rune Factory 4 Special and still can't appreciate the graphics. I'm definitely preferring Story of Seasons' cute style over Rune Factory's upscaled PS2 presentation.
I wish I could've gotten into this game, but after the GBC games, this one felt like they added way more stuff to do in a day, but only five minutes to do it all in. I really lost interest when I discovered that dating is nearly impossible without a guide: turns out my girl had too many hearts, and I was supposed to treat her poorly to lower her hearts, and then, by pure luck, I had to figure out what time on what day I had to bump into her in a specific location to trigger a cutscene before we culd move onto the next stage. WTF???
@Asaki I actually agree with you on some of this. I prefer the older HM games and feel that as they've added more stuff it actually takes away what I enjoy most. On the flip side, some think the older games are too boring and simple. In that case, I guess I'm a simple man.
Hmm I see some people not liking the 3D style. To me it looks good to me. For a game like this, the 3D style goes well with it IMO.
@bluemage1989 ugh no way you mean like the way the Pokémon mystery dungeon remake is no way. 3D all the way for me
I don't understand the artstyle hate...? The same thing happened with Link's Awakening remake, but it was a legit game.
They don't seam to relise that Friends of Mineral Town was a remake of Harvest Moon: Back to Nature for the playstation 1. this one actuallu seems to take more art insperation over the playstation 1 vershion rather then the remake for the gameboy. so really their remaking back to nature again rather then remaking the remake. I plaied my ps1 HM: BTN to death, really wish i could play it again so i'm really glad that they have a FoMT with more aspects/styling of BTN!
