i might be tempted to get ring fit adventure
I'm tempted to buy ring fit myself to help kickstart myself into exercising
FIFA + CoD + GTA is for meat and potatoes men.
I wish Ring Fit wasn't selling quite so well. A bit overpriced for me but I'd probably bite at £40, though I don't see much chance of that given the apparent popularity it has right now.
@Max_the_German
Okay. And all Mario-games are for children then?
To each their own.
To those buying FIFA 2020 at full price, DON'T! There are many, many cheaper versions you can buy.
Shame Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled has failed to stay in the charts, as that game is way better than Mario Kart 8, and bloody FIFA (seriously people, stop buying it at full price).
Jesus Luigis Mansion 3 still in the 10 top
@Max_the_German Don't forget the ladies love all those things too, and don't forget mario kart as well, and also other vegetables too. We also have a massive underlying love for europe too
I love that Ring Fit Adventure has become a success. Well deserved.
Minecraft... will it ever stop selling??
There you go... can buy FIFA and “run in place” while playing
FIFAfit 🤣
Now getting back to actual games. Jedi and LM3 still trucking. Great Home+GO combo if you can do it.
@gcunit It's a fun game and great motivation to get up that actually takes quite some time to finish but can last forever, it has its own quality accessoire, you can do it at home, and fitness tools and gym memberships cost a lot more. Its development has probably cost quite a bit too, as it's much more than just a piece of software.
From what I got out of it so far, I'd say it's far less overpriced than any €60 standard game, especially the annual series of "triple A" games.
Especially in a growing obese, fat-accepting, fit-shaming society this is great.
@Shambo I only pay top whack on the very greatest games - Smash Ultimate, for example.
As good as the Ring Fit Adventure experience might be, it's only one game. Compare the ring to the Wii Fit board, which was compatible with quite a few other games, as well as a host of mini games and exercises spread across Fit, Fit Plus and Fit U.
I paid £10 for a used Wii Fit board. Admittedly that was waaay after the height of the Wii Fit craze (don't think I got one until Fit U released), but I'm not someone who pays for gym memberships etc - there's plenty of no-cost exercise options.
Perhaps if Nintendo follow up with more Ring-compatible software I'll be more convinced it's worth having, but at the moment it's too much of a one-off for the cost for me to justify.
Which society do you live in? Fit-shaming?
@lemonjellydude If you do, make sure to get a good yoga or exercise mat if you don't already have one; exercises like planks and boat poses would be murder on a hard floor.
@gcunit Here in the States, we have a cancerous "fitness" franchise called Planet Fitness. There's been more than one story of people being chastised for being too fit. I seem to recall one woman who was told to cover up because, in their words, she was too athletic and may intimidate other customers. (She told to them to shove it and promptly canceled her membership.) On top of this, they have what's called a "lunk alarm", so if you even so much as grunt during an exercise, they'll set it off. Because reasons. Wouldn't want to scare people. lol
The Ring-Con is way more manageable in terms of its storage vs. the heavy Wii Balance Board. It's just a Pilates ring with electronics, after all, so it's definitely not gimmicky and a genuine way to exercise. As far as I'm concerned, it was well worth the investment for what I got out of it so far.
Glad to see Ring Fit doing so well. They’ve managed to make a proper game out of doing exercise. Quality stuff.
@gcunit Given its success, a sequel certainly isn't unthinkable. I much prefer the ring over the board, the ring doesn't need batteries, it allows for much more varied exercises, including light strength ones. But hey, I'm not here to sell it to you ^_^ If you're slightly interested I'd just say it's worth it, and it's gotten way more use than my balance board ever did, and is more fun as a game as well. True, exercise at home without extra tools is perfectly possible. I did so for a while (but eventually got a punching bag and boxing gloves, and some weights).
Yeah, the more obese "body positivity" people are rallying a crowd of obese followers, the more fit people - or just people telling them being obese isn't good - get publicly shamed. It's an absurd world we live in. I'd say you should check out the bodybuilding and the body positivity part of youtube, but maybe you shouldn't, it's quite toxic.
I remember when I was overweight, no one said anything about it. When I started losing weight by adopting a vegan lifestyle and starting to train and box, people started expressing "concern" for my health, and even started shaming it. I barely got sick ever, but when I had so much as a cough, it was due to my weight loss and vegan lifestyle "and I should eat some "real" human food" (dead animals and a cow's breastfeed). While, when I was proven perfectly healthy and beyond, they doubted the results. When I got more muscular, they falsely accused me of steroid or hormone abuse. And when I said something about someone growing obese, trying to help, I apparently should've been ashamed of myself. And that's just my personal experience, if you want drama, search youtube
@Max_the_German lol
was gonna buy this on launch but it's still a little pricey. that and my room is the size of a storage closet
