Sweet update. Nice to see a company still working on there game when it was already so well received.

This has been on my radar for a while, so might pick it up now.

Uuuuuugh man, why can't some companies chill till they release their game "complete" to physical.

@Paraka These companies make more money this way, they over a cool update, put the game on sale, get advertised, and stand out in a pile of small games. This is good for gaming.

Plus physical is bad for game deveolpers and the enviroment. Cut out the middle man and help save the earth.

@mesome713 - I like owning games, not long term rentals. Just like my books. I don't want some small controversy or licensing to determine how long I get to play Lego Star Wars or Night in the Woods.

If the earth is so heavily influenced by our gaming habits, we should just stop entirely.

I like content parity on my physical forms. The more complete it is the more I won't miss long after the Switch is dead and I go back to it.

I believe I argued for a "complete version" of Splatoon on this site for that reason.

@Paraka You'll never own the game, you didn't create it. And I'm not saying gaming is the only harm to the enviroment, but it's one we can easily impact today. Plus it's good for developers and gives them more money for future funding.

Digital, it works differently. They can take it at any time, even today. Wanna go back and be nostalgic? Good luck finding the Switch with your stuff on it if yours doesn't work.

Again, about gaming. We can easily impact it by not playing any games.

@Paraka I’m not sure what the complaint is.. I thought this was an update so if you have the physical cartridge then you would just do an update right?

Anyways I’m glad I held off until now. For those looking for physical in the US GameStop has it listed for $14.99 new. It wasn’t available online last I checked but if you live next to a store that has it. Also Target, Best Buy, and I believe Walmart will price match GameStop if they have it.

@Mamabear They are anti digital. They think Nintendo will one day remove all their games and they could never play them again. Which is understandable.

@Mamabear - I think you're misunderstanding. I am not against these updates existing, I just think releasing the physical version early on when these sorts of things are planned that they couldn't been added to said cart.

This isn't me being upset (or anti-digital, you do you), just wished the retail was later to incorporate stuff like this.

@Paraka There would be almost no physical releases then. Mario Maker got update 3 months later, Botw got updates 8 months later, Splatoon kept getting updates for years, etc etc.

If they release the game later then people get upset that they have to wait. Either way someone isn't happy.

@Indielink - Yeah, complaining about timing, but you're conflating the two topics, they're not exclusive to one another. I only speak for me; I want physical versions, as complete as they can be.

And there honestly isn't a time everyone is happy. The next Direct can announce Metroid Prime Trilogy, F-Zero and Mario Odyssey 2 and there will still be a gaggle who says it sucks cause Paper Mario is not there.

@Starvald - Or delays, or announce "complete" editions (Capcom abuses this, I know it can be done). Nintendo isn't an indie company, they can easily do this and makes swaths of cash.

Indie, I rather them just do a once-all when they feel "done" with their project. I may get it later, sure, but I get a more complete version.

@Paraka You could buy a bunch of SD cards, back your games up to 3 or so and then it's not a long rental, should outlast a cart.

@Jayofmaya - Higher risk too, though. One of those can go kaput once and that's 30+ games you'd have to recover. Tech, regardless of format, is shifty. But if one cart corrupts or goes out, it takes one game with them and can be replaced. SD cards, though I have 3 monolithic TB cards, an entire library could go to the wayside.

Don't get me wrong, there is benefactors to each ally, and I don't rag on digital (it is the reason we're seeing a resurgence of new companies after all). However, weighing what I do in gaming I prefer physical clean and clear.

@Paraka I think I understand your point now. Like companies who require “updates” on the game that just released. Mistakes or changes made when a game is distributed makes me think that the game wasn’t fully tested before release. I can understand that frustration.

@Mamabear - That and other mechanics and features that I do feel is one of those ideas smaller companies can launch after the release is out there making money.

For instance; Jet Kave just released an Arcade Mode this week, now you cannot sell that to the community at large, it was obviously intended eventually. Stuff like that I am always for waiting to have on-cart. I don't like when companies, indies especially, release a game physically when they're still in active development. Namely cause it's nowhere near cost efficient. Dead Cells and Darkest Dungeon did this and still fumbled a bit.

And just to be clear; There is a difference between legitimate DLC and Updates.

@Paraka all this complaining, and I’ve been a steam member for something like 20 years, have owned multiple PCS, and can still play half life that I purchased years ago. Starcraft still plays fine, even my l4d games still get use quite a bit and I’m 3 PCs later. I’m not happy that consoles are taking so long to catch up. I gave up on buying cds years ago. I can get it off iTunes for $10, then burn it, have it loaded on my phone/iPod. Make another copy a few years from now when I lose it, and my music is still there since about the same time as well.

Just because part of the first comment mentions an interest in less physical production leading to less waste in the distant future you make silly assumptions.

@NotoriousWhiz A game's quality is hardly relevant to the subject at hand. Just maybe, I mean MAYBE not every Steam and PC player likes Warcraft as well.
