Update (Thu 6th Feb, 2020 17:00 GMT): The free Wargroove: Double Trouble expansion is now live on Nintendo Switch and other platforms. You can find more details on this one in our original article below.
Original Article (Thu 9th Jan, 2020 04:05 GMT): Last October, Chucklefish officially revealed its upcoming DLC for Wargroove. In case you forgot, it's titled Wargroove: Double Trouble and is an entirely free update with "co-op play in mind", a new story and three new Outlaw Commanders.
Now, months on, the game's publisher and developer has confirmed this free DLC will arrive next month, on 6th February. Above is the official release trailer and below is some added context:
After an unexpected kidnapping and some severe ransom demands, your group of rogues have no choice but to perform the biggest heist that Aurania has ever seen…
This new content will allow you to take control of the mighty Wulfar, the trouble-making twins Errol and Orla, and the maleficent Vesper. You'll also gain access to two new units (Thieves & Riflemen), new arcade missions, a new volcano biome, updates to the custom editor, Outlaw music tracks and a number of online updates:
Competitive online Quick Play maps, including some of the community’s most competitive maps as voted for by the Groove of War team
Public and Private Multiplayer Lobbies – you can now also play custom campaigns online!
Visit the Wargroove website for more information about the balance and online changes. Will you be revisiting Wargroove to try out this free DLC when it arrives? Post a comment below.

Yeah I'll check it out, I still like the game, even with that silly "controversy" earlier. Honestly, it was more of a nontroversy.
Never got around to playing it on Switch. I saw it is now on PC Game pass, maybe good time to check it out.
I don't have enough time in the day! Way better than Tiny Metal, Wargroove is the best Advance Wars clone since AW itself!
I need to get back into this game!
Can't wait! I am approaching 250 hours sunk into this game and I'm ready to change things up as far as new units and balance tweaks. I definitely would have paid for this DLC. Thanks Chucklefish!
Never actually tried this one. When I get a chance, I need to download it. Really loved AW: Days of Ruin and Dual Strike.
Was a sleeper hit for me, bought it not having played much Advance Wars or SRPGs and I think that if you go into it not expecting full on advance wars you will enjoy it more. As it’s own game it’s brilliant fun and some of the user created content is great and adds a tonne of extra playtime.
Great game! It's somehow difficult after some point but you can adjust the difficulty. So, everybody wins! Thank you for the free dlc Chucklefish!
What spoilt the original campaign for me was that the levels were way too large. Give me Into the Breach any day.
@nkarafo yes, it's default difficulty is hard.. I suffered to finish it.. 70 hours more or less to beat it!
@rex_rex Yes it is! I saw walkthrough from YouTube in order to beat it too! Hehe.. Advance Wars were not so difficult from what I remember. I don't know for the last "Days of Ruin" because I didn't played it.
@nkarafo advance wars is very hard to get all stars
Great, that coop campaign looks awesome. Very happy with this game, a mix of AW and FE, if you like strategy battles, you should give this game a try.
Chuckle Chucklefishion!

Downloaded the expansion earlier but not sure if I'll ever get around to actually checking it out. Wargroove is really great but I just have too much to play right now.
So pumped for this! Starting the coop campaign with a friend tonight, and can't wait to try out the new commanders and units. Chucklefish has done such an amazing job with this game.
Very excited for this, loved the main campaign and arcade mode. I will be taking a break from Witcher 3 to give this the attention it deserves.
I refuse to play it until that character with green hair is voiced by a real person with green hair.
hi I'm sorry to change the subject but can somebody please tell me why music racer is now not appearing on the switch East or I really wanted to buy this game and now it is no longer there
Awesome game. Beat it awhile ago. Maybe l’ll go back for more stars with this DLC.
Does this scratch the Advance Wars itch for any of you guys? I heard negative things about this game, and how the AI promotes turtling or whatever.
That's quite some additional content and all for free aswell. I need to get back to this game, I stopped playing since it got kind of drowned between the flood of releases last year
Thanks for letting me know! I will have to download the update tonight!
Fantastic developer to offer content updates for free like this, it's how gaming should be.
@RightWingGamer I know this is a change of subject but why does anyone steam chicken? Fried chicken is unhealthy but grilled chicken is so much nicer than steamed chicken.
@Ardisan I am an Advance Wars fanatic and it definitely scrates that itch for me. The changes they have made to the AW formula are welcome ones imo. The only critique I would have is definitely the weak AI, which pales in comparison to something like Days of Ruin. However, I still can't recommend this enough as an AW fan.
Pleased to see they used a Scottish voice actor for Orla. I always enjoy hearing regional accents instead of the standard American and occasional London accents we always hear. I'm sure Chucklefish received a lot of praise for this...
@RightWingGamer try the forums, mate
Nice- looking forward to some co op campaign action with my brother! I’m only at chapter 2 of the 1p campaign. It’s been fun so far but I definitely see how the difficulty ramping up somewhat unfairly in later levels is going to be a big bummer, as it definitely is a time suck already without having to restart missions..
