Launching next week on Nintendo Switch is 3000th Duel, an action-adventure title which first launched on Steam at the end of last year.
Described as a "dark fantasy Metroidvania", the game stars a hero who has lost his memory with a mysterious mask covering his face. He heads out on a journey to discover the truth behind his identity, taking on monsters, platforming, and plenty of mystery along the way.
The game's world is made up of more than 300 connected biomes, with more than 150 monsters and final bosses to defeat. You'll find that blade-based attacks come with the advantage of fast attack speed, sword-based attacks can do heavy damage, and lance-based attacks are best for long reach and strategic gameplay.
The game will launch on Switch on 19th February and will be available for $14.99 / £11.29. An early-bird discount is already live, however, taking that price down to $10.49 / £9.03 for a limited time.

There has got to be a better name for these types of games.
For the life of me though, I can't think of one.
This looks like if they added a Metroidvania to Streetpass Mii Plaza.
I wonder how that would've worked?
I misread the title as "3000th Metroidvania Headed to Switch Next Week," which I don't think would have been wrong.
Great looking game. The trailer shows the game play and bosses well. I'll keep my eye out for the reviews, this looks to be well worth it.
Take a shot every time the gaming media describes a game as "Metroidvania."
Looks like a decent Castlevania style game. May check it out once the I know more about the game.
It looks like Bloodstained if they didn't skip out on optimization.
@Not_Soos Sure is how it feels.
Am I going blind or are the graphics super washed out.
Looks like they're aiming for a Dead Cells style game, in particular. They'll need to be at the top of their game to best that one.
@Kalmaro Platform Adventure Game
Graphically, looks like it'd be a good smart phone game
Bloodstained meets Hollow Knight but with a more sluggish look.
@Kalmaro
Interconnected platform adventure game.
Is this random generated level or not?
By now I feel like you gotta be a massive fan of the genre to have any interest in more of these games.

Guys, DON'T sleep on this one. It's made by a small team, it doesn't have the most polished looks, but the game is 100% fun and it plays great. It's a little rough around the edges but I've been playing it for a review on my site and helping the dev fix a few things pre-launch and it's really a lot better than most people are gonna assume. I cosign this one 100%.
I watched some footage from when it was early access last year and it looked quite good. The combat and dashing looks satisfying.
The only thing I didn't like was the repetitive feeling of the level layouts (just based off what little I saw).
Still, with that pre-order discount and the fact that I've got nothing new to play on Switch right now, I think I'll pick this up.
@GhostGeneration What's your website? I would be curious to read your review.
It looks solid to me. I am personally a huge fan of Metroidvanias, can't get enough of them.
"the game stars a hero who has lost his memory with a mysterious mask covering his face..."
Based on the lead character's voice, I"m not so sure that's a man. Not that it matters, but I was surprised.
@phunnbaba I’m pretty sure these lovely people wouldn’t want me promoting my site here, I have a link in my profile though.
It’s not up yet, I do multi-game feature articles so this one should be up next week!
@Kalmaro Interconnected Platform Action Adventure with RPG Elements Game
@GhostGeneration you already admitted that your pretty much being paid by the devs to give a review. I rather would want personal reviews from actually players instead and hundreds of them.
Not doubting that it might be a fun game to indulge in, but I'm starting to feel like the "Metroidvania" genre is getting a bit played out, no pun intended.
@Dirty0814 Completely untrue, I’m notifying them of bugs to help them squash them before launch. I’m not getting paid a dime, but you are free to believe what you want. My credentials are solid.
@the_beaver Ah, the old IPAAREG genre? Just rolls right off the tongue doesn't it? lol
@Dirty0814 I’ve also spent about 27 hours in the game so far, so I think that more than qualifies me as an “actual player”. My reviews are honest, unpaid, and done with integrity to help the community find good games. Will there be anything else?
What’s this modern thing with numbers appearing everywhere, I don’t like it
The term Metroidvania is just a tad worse than Roguelite.
This looks pretty cool, but looking at the gameplay I would wish they made the hero just a tad faster. It feels a bit sluggish.
This actually looks really cool. I'm all in. You can do muuuuch worse for 10 bucks I'm sure.
This could be fun.
