If you are a fan of the Nintendo Switch Lite's portability but hate how vulnerable that lovely screen is compared to the clamshell design of the 3DS family of consoles which came before it... then you are finally in luck. Nintendo of America's online store is finally selling the Nintendo Switch Lite Flip Cover & Screen Protector for $39.99.
Please note that some external links on this page are affiliate links, which means if you click them and make a purchase we may receive a small percentage of the sale. Please read our FTC Disclosure for more information.
Each Nintendo Switch Lite Flip Cover & Screen Protector set includes a flip cover for the Nintendo Switch Lite system and a protective sheet for the LCD screen.
While it's a little pricey, we're a big fan of the design and functionality of this screen protector and it will surely be a big hit with Switch Lite owners who are worried about damaging their screen during their travels.
The flip cover has been confirmed for other regions of course, we will update you when we see it go on sale elsewhere.
Let us know if you plan to pick up one of these bad boys with a comment below.

Flipping expected.
Flipping expensive.
Lovely little case, but keeping it on during gameplay just isn't feasible, that flap would constantly get in the way. I think you'd have to remove it completely from the case each time. Would still love one, but it is a tad expensive.
You can buy a solid case that protect the whole console and without hanging covers for four times less.
A cover that's 20% of the cost of the system is a bit much no matter how cool it looks.
"...on sale just in time for Christmas"... but releases second week of January 2020!
Eh. I've got a grip attached to my system and a case that fits it. I'm satisfied with that for the moment.
Might nab this if it ever goes on sale, though.
Pick up a decent case for half that price and you can also take the charger and a bunch of games with you.
@Sean161
Flippin all the way.
Not in the market for the Switch Lite nor will I ever be as I like the ability to switch from handheld to docked.
However, the idea of traveling with an exposed screen in my pocket (which seemed to be why some wanted a smaller Switch. For pocket travel) was one of the things I couldn't wrap my head around. So its good to see an answer for that for those with the Lite
@The_Pixel_King Brexit must have pushed back Christmas to Jan 25th in the UK. 🤣 (Nice catch)
Too expensive. And gray is too ugly.
Here are some similar items on Amazon for much cheaper.
This one is nearly identical for $13.99, but no screen protector.

Here's a harder material case, for stuff, for $11, again no screen.

Or, if you really feel like spending $39, here's a bundle of stuff - grip, case, screen protector, earbuds, game case, stylus.

Black is only $29.99 if you wanna save $10.00.
@rjejr Your first link is a good replacement for this. A little nervous about the suction cups, but I like the extra grip and the price. Wish it had a way to stay behind besides under your fingers (if that is what I'm seeing)
I don't have a lite, but I think this type of case is a pretty good idea.
The other two don't seem very related. I mean they are cases, but totally different use cases, in my estimation.
How are you doing, by the way?
@aaronsullivan Mr. Sullivan? You're like the ghost of Christmas past. 😂
I'm good, thanks for asking. Still on here, more than I'd like. I've mostly traded in gaming for a social media obsession. And sports. Watching way more college football games than normal. My wife and I have each have had a cold for like a month, maybe 6 weeks, kinda kills everything. And T-day dinner for 22 wiped us out.
I know those 2 cases aren't exactly the same thing, but the big set at the end came w/ a case and a case, I think that serves a similar purpose.
In a couple of years after Ntinedo has sold enough of these $40 covers they manufactured for 35c they'll announce the Switch DS. I still think a Switch DS is coming, it's the best way to port what's left of the Wii U and 3DS library - Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Kid Icarus. No Switch 3DS though, 3DS is dead, long live VR. I think we'll get a proper VR headset for Switch 2, whatever they call it, Nintnedo doesn't like "2"s.
We're not in the market for a Switch Lite either, my kids are smarter than that, there's no value there, but I like to help when I can, try to balance out all my negativity, every yin needs some yang.
My kid applied to 9 colleges, accepted to 1 so far, Seton Hall w/ a $100,000 scholarship (which means only $180,000 in debt), I'll prolly hit you up once we hear from the other 8, now that I know you're still lurking about, I know you know stuff.
Nice hearing from ya, even if it was just to ridicule my case selection.
@CptProtonX
Flippin 'ell.
@rjejr thanks for the er... update? Switch lite is a great value IMO though especially for busy folks who commute in big cities. The OG switch is basically my home console and since my family hogs up all the televisions, I use the light to get my 30 minutes of playtime until my son jumps on my head.
