Update (21st Oct, 14:15 BST): Nintendo eShop pre-orders for Earthfall: Alien Horde are now live, with the game being priced at £17.99 / €19.99. A brand new trailer has been released to celebrate - make sure to check it out above.
Original Article (11th Oct, 12:00 BST): If you were hoping to pick up Earthfall: Alien Horde from the Nintendo Switch eShop today, you'll have to put those plans on hold for just a little bit longer. The squad shooter's release date has been pushed back until 29th October (so ignore the date in the trailer above).
Originally set to launch on Nintendo's platform today, the game is a revitalisation of co-op FPS Earthfall which you might be familiar with from other consoles. Switch is getting the entire original game with all of its updates thrown in for good measure; the local wireless four-player mode is actually exclusive to the console, too.
If you missed it the first time around, here's the game's feature list:
A Horde of Content -- 15 unique locations, including 11 campaign chapters, 5 invasion maps, and tons of unlockable items!
Hardcore Co-op -- Drop in, drop out and engage in classic four-player co-operative gunplay inspired by the greatest co-op shooters of our time. Now with local wireless co-op, in addition to online play.
Death from Above -- Fight the horde, a procedurally generated alien menace that makes every gameplay session tense, exciting, fresh, and utterly lethal.
Well-armed Allies -- Become one of four story-driven characters and battle through an alien-infested plot while utilizing advanced weaponry and printable guns.
Constructible Defenses – Strategically place barricades that electrify or set the alien scourge afire. Deploy automatic sentries to create the perfect alien killing zones or set up mounted turrets to achieve firepower superiority.
When the game does appear on the eShop on the 29th, you'll be able to grab it for £17.99 / €19.99.

Resident evil better still if you want a shooter horror
Looks like a reverse take on the left for dead. Holding up and fighting the horde rather than running for it to the next location.
I'd prefer split screen coop, people... I'm an adult, and I'm the only adult I personally know with a Switch.
For $20, I’ll probably pick this up. With multiple Switch owners in my house, anything that offers more than 2 person co-op automatically gets moved up our list.
@AG_Awesome It's actually a lot like L4D. i played this on PC. it has some campaign missions just like left 4 dead along with a horde/survival mode, also quite like left 4 dead. It's still definitely worth picking up tho! curious how well it'd run on switch
Could be worth a purchase if it runs at 60fps
Just a heads-up: the original release received a 3 on Push Square. Yikes.
Bad game. Can't be delayed enough.
No physical ? No party.
Looked a bit like half life but on closer inspection, it appears to be missing a single player campaign. I find running around maps, with no path forward to be so dull.
@Uranux "No physical ? No party."
Agreed......
@SwitchForce even with physical, with this game, the party won't be much to write home about.
As a L4D junkie I'm interested. I'll wait for review scores though considering the reception it had on Xbox...
@VoodooTrumpet same I loved left 4 dead 1&2 and was interested in this might take the punt Tbf
@Moistnado Then you missed the meaning to the point.
this looks like killing floor, if its got a decent solo I might get this
I might get this if it doesn't run terribly. 20 bucks doesn't seem bad. I'd just need to convince my family members with switches to get it too lol
@Alucard83 ehm ...Resident Evil does have NOTHING to do with this game. This is a left for dead clone - so online coop survival
$10.00 purchase. Really want a game like this on my Switch. Will wait for a sale.
looks great, wish It was split screen
If it runs well this could be a lot of fun, graphically it's very average so if it doesn't run well then it's pretty lame.
@aznable Adult with Switch here.
@Dakotastomp I said "personally"
Dunno about this one. It looks pretty good in the trailer, but read the review of the PS4 version. They give it a 3...
