Fight’N Rage is headed to Nintendo Switch next week, bringing a whole lot of beat 'em up action along for the ride.
This old-school side-scroller is inspired by the classic fighters of the '90s, mimicking the look, feel, and simplified three-button gameplay they were known for. We're talking games like Final Fight, Battletoads and Captain Commando here, so if you're a fan of those, you might want to keep an eye on this.
The game is set in a future where human beings are enslaved by mutants. A female kick-boxer named Gal, a minotaur-like rebel mutant called Ricardo, and mysterious ninja F. Norris must join forces to defeat the mutant leader - called 'The Boss' - and bring back peace to Earth.
Fight’N Rage features three players local co-op mode with optional friendly fire. It contains alternative paths, cutscenes and endings that can change based on the selected characters and your own decisions.
Fight’N Rage also includes unlockable content such as costumes, extra difficulty settings, more gameplay speeds, new game modes, and more than 20 extra characters.
You'll be able to play this one on your Switch from 26th September.

-Smiles. =)
The woman is named Gal.
Much creativity.
Oh my gooooooooooooooooooood yesssssssssssssssssssssssss finally. They kept this one under their hats. Such an awesome game, hands down best beat-em-up on the System before it even launched.
Yes! Yes yes yes yes!
Played this briefly at my friend’s place and have wanted it on Switch ever since!
This game freaking rules, it and River City Girls within weeks of each other is nuts!
@Paraka ...problem, sir?
I've been playing this game for a while through Steam and thought it would be the perfect fit for Switch. I'm glad the devs thought the same!
Let the flood of beat-em-ups continue.
@Paraka It’s a nod to Final Fight, which had a guy named... uh... Guy.
This is actually quite the shock! I thought it wasn’t coming Switch-side because the guy who developed it didn’t want to pass it off to anyone else to port it. Guess something changed! Real excited to give this a go.
I ADORE the art style, was going to pick up castle crashers but that might have to wait...
I was -this- close to buying this on Steam, and now I run across this. The game looked quite appealing to me so I wishlisted it a while ago, but I'd much rather have it on my handheld console.
With my lack of friends these days and the genre’s repetitive nature, brawlers need online play and a sizable base to get my attention.
looks cool.
If it's like 10$ i'll bite.
This looks brilliant got my name on this one.
best URUGUAYAN game EVER!
This is one of the best beat em ups I've ever played. 20 hours on the Steam version so far.
Will wait for a possible physical release.
I like the unlockables, if the price is right why not?
Looks very tempting. I’ve been enjoying River City Girls so I’ll probably get this too.
This looks extremely fun actually
@Shiryu That's the first thing that popped into my mind as well. Two thumbs up.
Wow! I've always wanted to play as F. Norris in a beat'em up!
Ooh, lot's of chibi characters with six packs. Someone's going to be REALLY happy...
Thank you for the valuable information. Keep it up.
Gal instead of Guy.
I assume F stands for F*** Norris instead of Chuck Norris
sigh.
YES! definitely interested in this
Dude I've waited so long for this game to hit consoles. Might have to triple buy this. 1 for switch since it releases next week, PS4 digital for the trophies, and if they release a physical, PS4 physical to add to my collection
@XBontendo Sounds like the most manliest name in the friggin' world.
The sprites really remind me of Scott Pilgrim the videogame, and since that's basically extinct without a publisher to give it a new home, this will have to fill the void. I'll pick this one up after I clear out some more unused games from my library.
I'm still playing River City Girls, so I might wait a few months before I get this. Not to mention yet ANOTHER beat-em-up without online multiplayer...? C'mon man.
£17.99 on EU Shop. As much as I want the game, I am waiting for a sale on this one as the Capom Beat 'em Up Bundle is £15.99 with 7 games.
@Shiryu - She ain't being creative either, so there!
you can play as a Minotaur and potentially on a surfboard, i can dig it
Okay, this looks crazily good and the trailer hooked me, but... I had to check it, it has a generous 80% discount on Steam (EU) right now.
It would be amazing having it on switch, but such a chance to save many of my coins can't be ignored either~
@brandonbwii Totally fair comment — but, FWIW, I totally enjoyed this game as a single-player experience/challenge on Steam. I might even re-buy this for the Switch — and I’m not even a fan of this genre.
Fight N Rage does a lot of little things right, from the visuals to the movesets/controls to the unlockables, branching paths, etc.
Again, totally fair if you decide to pass — if multiplayer is central to your enjoyment, I suspect this will have very few online participants at any given time, given its relative lack of marketing.
@Paraka Touchéz...
...underwear does not stay in place if you kick like that...cringe
Another retro style game with fake scanlines I see. Hopefully it'll keep me company until Streets of Rage 4.
This was pretty bland on PC. Looks awesome but got dull quick.
Amazing! This game has so much depth for a best em up. Plays and looks great. All by one guy, originally, who only hired someone for the soundtrack. Will seriously consider double dipping.
I have this on Steam and have played through it probably a half dozen times at least. There's 8 different endings, multiple paths, different cutscenes depending on what character you're playing as... it's totally worth playing multiple times. If you are a brawler/beat 'em up fan, you must own this game, I am Super Cereal.
No online multiplayer?
HELLLL YEAHHH X)!!!! THIS LOOKS EPIC. I cant wait to play this!
Looks pretty awesome.
I just wished this would happen last week here. I'm so dang happy. Dont sleep on this, if you enjoy beat em ups. Also, it might still be $4 on steam. For my budget minded peeps.
I get the TMNT/Battletoads feel from this. I don't know if I "will" play this, but I "would" play it, no doubt.
lol that crotch shot from the main page easy clickbait. On a serious note I feel the minotaur rips off Mike Haggar and this is for furries. At least $4 on steam until 9/23/19.
OH MY GOD YESS!!!! I DIDNT THINK IT'D EVER COME TO SWITCH!!! Dude I remember that the dev was having issues as nintendo wouldn't give him a dev kit about a year ago. I guess the issues are all cleared up. I'm definitely buying this DAY ONE! (It'll be a double dip for me). Check out this cool combo video. One of the best beat em ups in recent memory imo!

@sfb
Sounds great. I may have to check it out after all. Thanks for the info.
It reminds me of a similar and recent 2D title, 99 Vidas. It's a fun lil' romp... not that long but it's an easy Platinum Trophy. I got it for free with my PS+ subscription months back for PS4.
THE QUESTION IS THOUGH... how much will this game cost on Switch's eShop??? I'm not gonna pay more than $10 for it. I'll prob have to wait for a sale if it is over $10 or so. I wanna buy "Ori" digitally for $29.99 on eShop and also "Jedi Outcast II" for $9.99. Just waiting for the pre-order/purchase to "open up" so I can actually pre-order or buy 'em both. I just got "Astral Chain" on cartridge so I like the cheaper indies here and there which is where the Switch really shines with it's occasional $0.65 or $0.99 game in it's "Deals" section or w/e it's called- lol. Another funny thing is that I couldn't get into "Nier: Automata" at all on PS4 but "Astral Chain" I love. I might have to give "Nier" another try on my PS4. I don't think I gave it it's fair shake at all and and 2 hours of gameplay isn't enough to truly give "Nier" the shot I know it deserves.
This game is truly fantastic. I didn't like the graphics, at first, but the mechanics are wonderful. It plays like a fighting game and you can parry attacks as in SF III: Third Strike. The pacing is really good. I have died quite a bit on normal difficulty, but you have infinite continues to start at the beginning of a level and can pick up where you left off.
