In case you forgot, the Samurai Shodown reboot slashes its way onto the Switch in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Despite the fact Nintendo fans are still waiting for the base game to be released, SNK at EVO 2019 announced a second season of DLC for the game. It includes four additional characters and will arrive in 2020. The first one is Mina Majikina.
Later this week on 7th August (on other platforms), Rimururu will become available. SNK also revealed Shizumaru Hisasme would be released as a "special present" in September.
Is this a fighting game you'll be adding to your collection when it arrives on Switch? Sharpen your blade in the comments below.

Yes!!! Samurai Shodown is a great game!!! Im so glad its getting more content!!!! SNK is really back on top as of late. Hoping to see them confirm KOF XV for Switch!!!
All these DLC characters better be on the Switch and PC versions day one. You delay it SNK then you had time to implement it. Make the Sony and Microsoft people pay for the early releases, you make us wait late you better give us the entire 2019 roster in the full game.
Good game, I got it on PS4 and it is one of the best in the series, at least since SSII IMO.
Looks great, hope the Switch version is worth the wait.
I was able to catch most of the streamed pools on Friday and Saturday which had some great matches. And then Top 8 just blew all of that away! That got me even more hype for the game, I might attend the locals at NextLevel this fall when my work dies down.
@retro_player_22 I hope that's the case. Wan-Fu comes out in December, so hopefully they'll push the release to after that to make it happen. Rimururu is supposed to come out this week, so hopefully they'll be able to stick to that 'early in the month' DLC release schedule all the way through the rest of the year. Even though I know it would mean that all the characters are basically ready to go now and they're in their final tweaks before the (physical) game gets sent out for printing. Worse comes to worse, I hope SNK will give out the DLC for free again like they did on XBox and PS4 for a week or two during the release period.
Cool i was hoping this would come to Switch. But i want the New Tekken over any fighting game released or releasing for Switch. I have fond memories of Tekken 3. Before Tekken 3 and the Playstation people were considered nerds, geeks, ect. ect. for playing video games. Tekken 3 and the Playstation brought in the age of video games being the norm. I remember everybody in high school playing it.
I very nearly bought this n XBox. Glad I didn’t and I will now be buying for Switch on day one.
I'm waiting on the Steam version for better online netcode but I'm happy for Switch owners
I did freak out at the KOF XV announcement even though the game was already confirmed for 2020 a while ago. The one place SNK really need to focus on refining is definitely the visuals, and SamSho definitely learned from KOF XIV at launch and is one of the best looking 2.5D Fighters I've ever seen, up there with Guilty Gear Xrd REV, UMvC3, BlazBlue Centralfiction, P4A. SFV and DBFZ. If KOF XV looks anywhere near as good as SamSho I will be incredibly excited.
Other EVO announcement highlights for me were Haohmaru in SoulCalibur VI, Snake possibly being soft confirmed for Tekken 7 (I know the EVO Twitter said it was a joke but knowing Haruda and his way of announcing things it definitely isn't) and probably the best one was Daisuke coming onstage to announce the next Guilty Gear, which visually captivates on a level I don't think any GAME period could match for the foreseeable future.
Just waiting...and waiting...and waiting.
I refuse to buy this on PS4 first, but geez, I hunger.
