One of the standout brawlers on the Switch right now is Dragon Ball FighterZ. The Arc System Works release first arrived on the platform in 2018 and has improved over time with a number of free content updates and DLC character releases.
The latest free content update unlocks seasonal gacha, a new course for the Arcade Mode and custom Tenkaichi. In addition to this, Goku [GT] and commentator voice packs are also being added to the game today as a part of the FighterZ Pass. Here's a graphic of everything you can expect, courtesy of the Bandai Namco Twitter account:
The new paid DLC fighter – Goku [GT] – is based on the much younger-looking Goku from the Dragon Ball GT series. He's ready for battle with his special "Super Kamehameha" attack, transforming him into Super Saiyan 3 and has many other moves such as "Super Spirit Bomb", "Power Pole" and the "Reverse Kamehameha."

I do love DBZ but the games usually don't leave me interested for too long. I bought Xenoverse 2 pretty early on for full-price and I've barely even touched it, and sorry to say that these updates for Fighterz won't draw me in. I'm looking to buy it eventually when I can find it for a cheap price though, the current price just isn't worth it for me.
Still the best fighting game on the Switch.
@SuperWeird Pfffft not even close
Oh heck yes. Bren looking forward to this.
@SuperWeird Absolutely, in the sense of traditional fighting games.
Eh, FighterZ is a great game and one I would recommend to the masses looking for a good fighter, but I kind of stopped playing it this year compared to last year when I was all over it. Maybe sometime this year I can fully return to it, but right now the hype fire is pretty low for me, especially since other games this year had released for me.
While we're on the subject, Is My hero one's journey worth the time?
We gonna see the new Granblue on switch? I sure hope so cuz that game looks dope af
@Dakotastomp My Hero is alright, it's definitely got a ton of single player content and the customization options are incredible. But your enjoyment of it will depend on if you like the combat. The game plays weird, and if you don't like the controls then it'll definitely ruin the experience. But if you like what you see Gameplaywise, then you'll have fun with it. Though 1 other small issue is the character roster, it just feels like they could have added more, especially in terms of villains. The game doesn't even have much doc support, only offering 2 paid doc characters and 1 free character, with seemingly no others planned.
I'm still sad this isn't OG Dragonball Goku, but his move set looks interesting enough. I still hope Roshi is the last dlc character. right before SSJB Gogeta and Dragonball Super Broly, which were confirmed to be the final 2 DLC characters.
It would be awesome if they made Moro a DLC character, he is one of the best Dragonball Antagonists in a while, and hopefully the Super anime will return and cover the Moro arc of the manga.
"[...] his special "Super Kamehameha" attack, transforming him into Super Saiyan 3 [...] "
Wasn't he changing to SSJ4 with his Lv.3 Super?
..opens google..
Oh wait. He has a SS3 Kamehameha, and a SSJ4 Dragon Fist.
Nevermind.
@ReaderRagfish Yeah, that's what I've heard! Unfortunately, the more traditional-style fighting games aren't really my thing; the only exception to this rule so far has been Soul Calibur II back on the GameCube. I'd wanna say Link was a big factor on this, but I also tried out Pokkén Tournament (on both Wii U and Switch, actually) which is somewhat traditional and this game couldn't hold my interest much either despite having Pokémon that I really like. So while I do want to give DB Fighterz a chance, I don't think I can justify the price it's currently going for. One day though!
These DLC paks are WAY too expensive. Nintendo gives us 5 fighters 5 stages and tons of music for $25. Bandai Namco gives us 5 fighters....for $35. M and like 3 Fighters for $25 in the 2nd DLC pak....what?
It look's like a new Goku is coming again..
Dang, I suspect a nerf is coming next!
When I was a kid playing the 'Super Butouden' DBZ games on SNES, this is what I imagined it would be.
These updates are great to pull me back into a game I’ve moved on from.
@patbacknitro18 oof! Might have to drop that one then. DBFighterz seems to have more content to it and a bigger community of players.
@Dakotastomp oh FighterZ is a far better game. Its far better in terms of gameplay, the base roster is ok enough, with really good dlc support, and it has far better single player content. It's story mode is far supirior to Ones Justice. Ones Justice is a game only My Hero Acedemia fans can enjoy. Where as FighterZ is a game that even non-Dragonball fans can pick up and enjoy. While I'd hesitate on recommending one's justice, I whole heartedly recommend FighterZ.
@patbacknitro18 Like, I love BNHA way more than I did DBZ for some reason, but if the game isn't that good, what's the point?
I know they're just showing Shen Long for the setting, but at a certain point in this video I did start hoping he was actually going to be revealed to be playable. :-/
A great game ... but the DLC is super over-priced.
