Story of Seasons (or Harvest Moon, as the series used to be called) is getting a crossover release with Japanese manga series Doraemon on Nintendo Switch. Currently only confirmed for Japan, the game will fittingly be called Doraemon Story of Seasons.
Set to be published by Bandai Namco, the game has just been confirmed to be hitting Japanese stores on 13th June. The trailer above has been released alongside the announcement.
Protagonists Doraemon, Nobita, and their friends find themselves stuck in an unknown land, helpfully growing crops and raising animals in this new location until they can find a way back home. Throughout the game, Nobita encounters various characters from Shizen Town who will start to help you find some of Doraemon’s lost Secret Gadgets.
It was first shown off in a Nintendo Direct trailer in February:
Just last month, Siliconera reported on a Taiwanese rating for the game which hinted at a potential English localisation. This hasn't been confirmed as of yet, but hopefully we'll at least get an English-language release available to import from Asia.
Are you a Story of Seasons fan? Are you interested in this crossover title? Tell us below.

Why can't this come to the West. Why
@Yasaal
From my experience, All Doraemon games always on Nintendo machines and never goes to West due to audiences target.
Doraemon games was designed for Japanese market, not for Western.
I really wish we can get an English version.... However, if that is the case, please don't use their English names (Noby, Sue, Big G, Sneech) and localize Dorayaki, Sushi into Donuts, Hamburger....
@yamato2706
Sneech for Suneo ??
LOL 😆
Anyway, nice to see Back to Nature style for "Harvest Moon" Switch version. 😀
Btw, i still wonder...
Will Nobita get married ?
If so, with who ?
And do you think it's too young for Nobita to get married as we know Nobita is still 10 years old in this game ? 😆
This looks so beautiful, I hope they keep this look for a Switch Story of Seasons. I'd even play this one though I don't know anything about Doraemon
Looks really good actually
This looks really nice. Sadly the connection to Doraemon means its unlikely to come out over here. Hope we get a Story of Seasons game on Switch though.
I love the art style, it reminds me a little of Tale of Two Towns with those backgrounds. Hopefully there will be an English language option, so it can be imported from the likes of PlayAsia and Amazon.jp.
No mention of Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale? I mean, we've had a similar crossover before, and I loved it. Amazing little surprise back in the day for me. Fingers crossed we'll at least get an English language version of this one. ^^
I hope they will use this visual style in the next main Story of Seasons game. Looks lovely.
Art style is great, but I honestly can’t see playing this after so many hours logged in Stardew Valley.
@Anti-Matter What makes Doreamon not suitable for western? Specific things you know about?
Doraemon is as famous in Japan as Bugs Bunny or Mickey Mouse is in the west. So really a crossover like this really isn't that strange.
@Yasaal it's likely according to a listing in taiwan.

just look up "Doraemon Story of Seasons"
Looks lovely! I like Doraemon too, as a character. There’s no way I’m risking a Japanese only version though!
I’ll have to wait for animal crossing and hope they’ve made the pace as gorgeous looking as this
@Chimaj
From what i watched from Doraemon series and their games, Doraemon games was developed with Japanese things toward Japanese kids, from understanding Japanese letters (There were Educational Doraemon games on almost every Nintendo machines), introducing Japanese cultures and circumstances like being living in Japan city.
It didn't marketed like Yokai Watch despite Yokai Watch was quite popular on Western market for being "English" , Doraemon has developed for being Japanese rather than being half Japanese half Western like Yokai Watch.
This game looks incredibly hygge. Maybe people like me are in the minority, but I would totally be into a localization. Of course, it would end up competing with my Animal Crossing purchase. Oh darn it that's why
I played the Story of Seasons and PopoloCrois crossover, and it was pretty good. I'm not sure if I'm interested in a Doraemon crossover.
I want this so badly, it´s a pity it will never get a localization .
(lack of) Personal interest in the crossover aside, it does look quite beautiful. Love the art style.
Getting this day one!!
Common why is Japan getting good games but we get ahem poor games. They won't allow to buy outside of Japan....what a drag but will keep checking.
Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons are completely different series now. Natsume took XSEED’s copyright to Harvest Moon away, so they began Story of Seasons. Both of them are my lifelong obsession, though. ^-^
I just want an actual Story Of Seasons for the switch. It's been what? Almost 3 years since Trio of Towns came out?
@Yasaal
Good question with good answers available:
1: Most people outside Japan have very little knowledge of the Doraemon universe, aside from recognising Doraemon the character himself.
2: An abundance of actual Harvest Moon games and spin-offs as well as indie-wannabes already swamping the market in the West.
3: Those that really do want to play this are free to import it or get it from the japanese eShop.
