Pancakes for me. My Aunt makes hers the size of a dinner plate and covers it with fried apples and fresh whipped cream and then folds it like an omelette . I’ve been a pancake woman since I first started eating those as a little girl.

Idk which team Marina is on, (If she's on Pancakes I'm joining that team lol) but Waffles will always be better. Waffles were literally created as Pancakes, but more convenient topping-wise

I've never had breakfast waffles, I didn't really think they were a thing here in Europe compared to America. Have I just been living a sheltered life?

@Anjanath_Fang I didn't know it was an American thing. Here in America we have a burger that the bun is made of waffles. Never had it because I'm not obese, but yeah.

Aren't they literally the same thing, just made differently? Pancakes are easier to make since you don't need to get out the press.

@Trajan Mostly when I hear about breakfast waffles it's in American TV shows, like Eggos in Stranger Things. Now that you say it I don't actually know the difference between them, I've always imagined waffles to be pancakes with holes in them.

I've since remembered the existence of Belgian waffles so I guess they are a European thing too

@Anjanath_Fang Most of the quality waffles here are marketed as "Belgian waffles". I have a Belgian waffle maker.

Oooh this is a good one! They're very similar because they have almost the same ingredients, yet they are very different in how they're prepared. Both can be served with various toppings but waffles can have other ingredients that turn it from a breakfast food to a lunch/dinner/snack food. Last year on our family vacation I made waffles and I included corn in the batter and we topped the waffle with pulled pork and coleslaw. It tasted awesome and it was a hit with my family. I'm also a huge fan of a fresh baked waffle topped with fresh local fruits in the summer time. For these reasons, I'm going Team Waffle.

….. But pancakes are sooooo good too. Fresh blueberry pancakes are very delicious.

This is difficult, I love pancakes and waffles. UGH. Why couldn't it have been one of these vs. oatmeal? That would have been so much easier for me to pick between, LOL.

Can't remember the last time I tried waffles so think I'll go with pancakes.

Waffles are the blatantly correct choice.

I'm not talking about stuff like eggos (those are barely waffles...) I mean the good kind. Crispy, freshly ironed, and topped with something wonderful like fresh strawberries and whipped cream.
Or chicken. I'd never say no to a good chicken & waffles.

But then again, you can bake stuff like blueberries into pancake batter and have it turn out really well... Pancakes are not as good, but they have their upsides.

...the correct answer is still waffles.
