Oppo might not be a household name in the west, but it's one of the world's largest smartphone makers and the parent company of OnePlus, a brand which has gained considerable traction in this part of the world recently. It has also just inked a deal with The Pokémon Company which allows it to create a series of themed accessories for its smartphone range.
First up is a 10000mAh Pikachu Edition SuperVOOC Power Bank, which uses Oppo's next-gen VOOC Flash Charge technology - capable of fully charging the 3,700mAh battery of the Oppo Find X (one of the company's flagship handsets) in just 35 minutes. It costs 399 Yuan (approx $60), and when charging a SuperVOOC-compatible smartphone, special Pikachu-themed animations play on the lock screen.
That's not all! Oppo is also launching a special Pikachu case for its popular Oppo R17 Pro smartphone. Priced at 149 Yuan (around $20), it uses NFC to automatically change the homescreen theme to a Pikachu-flavoured one.
The chance of either of these products coming to the west is perhaps slim, but we love the idea of a case that can automatically switch on a Pokémon-related homescreen theme. Let's hope we see this concept come to other devices in the future.

Well have to admit, it doesn't look that bad. It's an interesting idea being able to have your case change stuff.
I’m good on the phone & case but that power bank is really cool. Wonder how it would do charging the Switch?
Using NFC through the case is ingenious.
Pikachuuuuu.....!!!
(Smartphone has been electrocuted by Pikachu)
I love Chinese stuff more everyday
Considering how overwhelmingly popular Apple's iPhone is in Japan, I am pretty surprised Apple hasn't made a deal like this. Remember when iPhone was THE smartphone in the west? When the term "smartphone" wasn't even really a thing yet, because it was basically just iPhone or Blackberry for business?
Yeah, it's basically still like that in Japan. With the overwhelming majority of the Japanese marketshare for smartphones being Apple products.
