Capcom's Mega Man 11 arrived on the Switch at the start of October. Shortly after the big launch, a post-release update to the game's Steam database page suggested downloadable content could be on the way when the Japanese developer 8ing - known for its past collaborations with Capcom - was listed.
With DLC suspected, the Mega Man 11 Producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya has now supplied an official comment. When asked in an interview by the fansite Rockman Corner about the possibility of downloadable content being added to the game, he said the following:
Unfortunately, we can’t make any promises at this time. We’d love for even more players to give MM11 a try and get excited about the game.
Capcom is big on DLC in a lot of its games, but based on the above comment, it sounds like the team would prefer to see some more sales of the base game before potentially expanding the experience.
Would you like to see DLC make its way to Mega Man 11? Did you add this game to your Switch library on release? Tell us below.

It was a solid game. Maybe some good chiptune music and some Protoman action would be welcome. Stardroid expansion... ok I’m being too hopeful. Lol
And here I was hoping I could play as Bass (hopefully based on his gameplay from MM&B than MM10) or Roll or Protoman...
Still have yet to open the wrapping on my physical edition. Waiting to finish Mr Tako and dark souls first
It's pretty likely we will have at least one DLC character and a "special stage". As far as wishes? 8-bit levels or chip tunes please!
This game is great, but man was the music underwhelming. I'd be down with 8-Bit remixes, provided I don't pay for them.
I already own the game, y'know?
The game is cheap enough as it is. I'd rather have a new instalment than compromise the completeness of the physical edition.
I'd prefer that they focus on continuing to revitalize the Mega Man series with new titles instead of working on additional content for an existing game. They've already said that Mega Man team at Capcom is very small, much smaller than for their big AAA projects, so I'd hope that that team is kept working on keeping Mega Man alive in any way they can.
@ilikeike
Yeah
tbh I'd hope they went straight to working on Mega Man X9 after MM11 was completed...
New one, start over, try again!
So did this game suck? Or..
That is incredibly disappointing news, considering the base game took me a whole weekend to beat...
Anything that can be added to this game as DLC could just be saved for the next game...
Assuming that doesn't take another eight years.
So this means the game is not living up too the sale exeptations ?
I just bought the game recently and am nearly done with it. I love it but don't need any DLC. Like some others have mentioned, I hope work has already begun on a new game, preferably Mega Man X as I enjoy the MMX games a little better than the main ones.
@Mgene15 no, it’s awesome.
There will be 8 new robot masters and 4 new Wily stages. The DLC will be titled "Mega Man 12." Hopefully we get Mega Man X9 from Inti Creates between now and then.
Make a compete game and then release!
Stop with all the mediocre DLC!
Spend those development resources on making a new, complete game!
They will add classic boss door animation as dlc
I wonder will there be DLC if I use my Mega Man Amiibo on it.
This says to me that despite the evergreen popularity of Megaman among its die hard fans, Capcom doesn't value it the same way. They seem to see it as a series from their past, to use to milk the nostalgia cow every now and then and that's all.
It's ok Capcom, just get started on Mega Man 12 or Mega Man X9 and we'll call it even
I wanna play another game than Mega Man Maverick Hunter X where I can play as Vile.
Lower the price then Capcom lol
love it, it's in my love vault and you can't make it any better
Just move to the next game already. Remember? In the past how many games were there on the NES? That's what i'm talking about. Quit with DLC stuff and turn it into a true next game. They've done it better in the past though
