Mario Tennis Aces is about to be updated to Version 1.1.2, tweaking certain elements of the game and nerfing Bowser Jr.'s supremacy on the court.

Bowser Jr. has been causing a bit of a stir among Mario Tennis Aces players, with his extra long reach giving him an unfair advantage, sweeping up shots that would usually be too difficult to reach. One tournament winner recently slammed the game during a victory speech, calling the game "trash" for this very reason.

The patch notes state that the update will adjust how fast Bowser Jr. can move when charging a shot and lower the angle at which he hits the ball back. More balancing adjustments are expected to be made to the character in time for the August tournament, too.

It's not just Bowser Jr. that has seen alterations, though; all characters have seen changes to the range within which they are able to return a ball, as well as how much energy is used when doing a Trick Shot to hit a ball that goes behind them. The distance you can move and the scope between left and right has been shortened, as has the time it takes to successfully recover energy. Finally, when returning a serve, a ball can no longer inflict a Body Shot until it bounces once.
