This is great news all around.... Rocket League is the gift that keeps on giving!
It's an incredible update., performance mode looks brilliant in handheld now. Quality looks superb...until it moves. No interest in that mode but it's nice they added it anyway. Tournament mode is such a huge addition to the game.
tried quality mode, looked good but felt kinda bad. Performance mode in handheld now looks and plays brilliant though. I am amazed at how much better and smoother it is.
Wow
Video capture is a brilliant addition too, I can turn my best goals into GIF's
This one was an overtime winner after an epic encounter.
Well that's good news, I mostly play the game in handheld mode because the quality on the tv is a bit blurry, so I'll definitely try out the 30fps option to see if it makes a difference.
I am so glad I bought this game! Just all round fun. Can't wait to get done with work, so I can benefit the best 15$ I've spend.
Glad they added this stuff, but won't go back to playing super-frequently till the software crashes are fixed on the Switch version. Still desperately trying to get enough spring event currency to unlock stuff despite the Software crashing every other match
@OorWullie how do you turn them into gifs?
@Jayronauron That is strange. My son has been playing a lot the last couple days and didn't crash a single time.
Maybe bad WiFi connection? You could also try to delete and reinstall the software if you have it digital.
@mgnoodle It's not really straightforward. I used the video capture on Switch and posted it to Twitter, then I used an app called DU Recorder which records your phone screen. Once you have that, you can turn the video into a GIF with the same app.
@Jayronauron I've had the occasional software crash in over 250 hours of play but none since the update. Looking at crate contents in your inventory seems to be a common cause for crashes, the Victory crate especially.
The looks of Quality mode + smoothness of Performance mode = PS4 mode.
With the Switch you always have to sacrifice something, it's good that developers now give us a choice on what to kill and what to let live.
@Jayronauron
That ain't gonna get fixed because it's an issue specifically affecting you. I've had the game crash maybe twice in thirty hours. Crashing every other match sounds like a problem with your hardware.
@OorWullie ah cool thanks. I’ll give it a go
The support they have the game is amazing it really is a great example of how to foster a passionate online community. Its a shame, not all online games are looking to improve the way rocket league is.
All I have noticed since I updated is my ping is terrible all the time, it has crashed 3 times, and I have had no hud display in 2 matches, forcing it to hd restarted after game was over, I could play fine.
Before, not 1 issue 1 time.
I have reset my router and shut down everything WiFi related and my ping always around 100 instead of 40-60 max.
@Donutman better than trying to play in Uganda where my "high speed internet" is always a 300 plus ping. Kinda kills the online experience.
This game has improved so much since launch. At launch handheld mode was super blurry and looked like a gameboy advance game.
I've had my first game crash last night after updating (a lot of users reported this before the patch as well). I saw it mentioned a lot on Reddit. Pysonix has acknowledged the issue and will fix it in a future patch.
@Jeronan This is one of the many things I did while working with their support team unfortunately. They eventually came to the conclusion that it wasn't my hardware
@OorWullie Yea, it's tied to the victory crates somehow...I just don't get how it is crashing 10x as much for some people yet is a minor annoyance or less for the rest.
@Old-Red Actually, it's not just me, though admittedly it's not everyone either.

Also, in one of the more recent threads by Psyonix, some of the individuals who had these issues questioned whether this issue would be fixed by this time. The developer replied that it wouldn't, but the issue is actively being pursued. Myself and most of the others with this problem also went through the support route (a highly responsive support team they have, albeit not always suggesting things that have a chance of helping)...and at least for me, I received a second reassurance that they were working towards fixing the issue.
Basically, it's a waiting game for me. I know it will eventually get fixed, but until them I'm virtually sidelined (pun not intended). On a game that is addicting as this one, that's disappointing, but I'll live.
@Jayronauron it has happened a lot to me too, and now with the update the UU disappear and when i use the boost it runs at like 10 fps, hope that will be fixed soon
I understand virtually nothing of what the words in the additions list mean, but it sure looks like there is a lot.
