The original Gotcha Racing was a fun-filled, top-down racer that revved its way to an 8.10 review here on Nintendo Life, and now its sequel is looking to score its own podium finish as Gotcha Racing 2nd roars onto Nintendo Switch on 29th March.
This cutesy racer combines gacha (capsule) toys, which you can unlock and then customise with over 700 parts to choose from. You can merge these parts to tune your car's performance, then head onto the track to boost, transform and more to win the Grand Prix. There's a handful of local multiplayer modes, including Mini Grand Prix, Car Battle and more. There's even an online leaderboard so you can track your times in Time Attack mode.
What do you make of Gotcha Racing 2nd? Did you play the original on 3DS? Share your thoughts with the community...

I enjoyed the first one.
Wow... a trailer that focusses exclusively on actual gameplay footage! A rarity these days. Looks good... particularly the one screen mode! Brings back memories of Super Sprint and the like.
I like this kinda game (grew up with Super Off Road and Micro Machines) so am interested in this one. One minor complaint: I know the graphics are simple, but they do look a bit low res. I set the video to 720P but the car models still looked pretty murky. Will keep an eye on it.
Great looking upgrade system, but Isometric racers just aren’t for me....
... give it to me now! NOW!
This was a nice surprise when I spotted it last night, love these kind of games and this seems to be a good one, nice price too. Definite purchase!
Looks cool!!
Why didn't they upload the video in 60fps? Makes the game look a bit jittery.
Racing car from Top view ?
Nah.
Loved the first one!
3DS original was great, definately interested in this!
Pass
And the wait for an actual modern racer on Switch continues.
@Pahvi F1 Circus on the Megadrive by any chance? That game was unbelievably difficult as it was so fast.Great game once you got the hang of it though.
The original was great so I'm looking forward to this too. There's far too many games coming out for my wallet to keep up at the moment but it's a lot better than the wii u drought days.
I love a good top down racer, however not sure why but the constant camera twirling kind of made me queasy on the video. I will watch some videos upon release and see if that continues. If not, I will most likely pick this up at some point
Loved the first one, hyped
I love racing games but I hate top-down racers.
Ahh, Super Sprint. I wish I wasn't too old to remember that game. The Mini Grand Prix mode also bears similarities to a Wii Ware title by Konami called Driift Mania, which was rather good.
@bluedogrulez Is it even isometric?? I think it’s just top down 2d right? Ok actually on second look yes there is definetely some 3d perspective there but I don’t think it’s isometric.
