With the hairs on the back of our neck barely relaxing from Outlast: Bundle Of Terror launching last week (out of nowhere we might add, like some strangely satisfying jump scare), we've now got to contend with another round of fear-inducing horror as Outlast 2 prepares to hit on the Switch eShop on 27th March.
If you've never played the sequel, it moves the nightmare away from the claustrophobic confines of Mount Massive Asylum and out into the Supai region of Arizona. It's genuinely one of the scariest games we've ever played (on other platforms) here at Nintendo Life, and considering how well the Outlast port worked out, we're confident the sequel will be just as smooth in its scare tactics.
It'll cost $29.99 on the North American eShop, and £26.99 on the UK one.
Are you a fan of the new influx of horror games on Switch? Will you be picking up this much-loved sequel at the end of the month? Be sure to let us know below...

I have enjoyed the few hours of Outlast I've played on the Switch so far. As a result I will most likely buy Outlast 2 at the end of the month.
Can't wait for this and I haven't even started the first one yet. I will get started on it tonight though now that I've finished the main story in Layers of Fear and just about (I think) finished Detention.
I highly recommend both of those games by the way.
Like the original game, I'll look at it when there's a substantial discount, especially as it costs €10 more.
Good to see more of these types of games getting released. Nice to have a diverse choice......bit steep though
@SLIGEACH_EIRE the first one has the dlc included. Is that the reason for the extra charge?
I'm glad they are bringing the sequel as well but wish there was physical versions of these for Switch.
Can’t wait. Beat the first one last night.
Surely we can expect a bundle of both at a better price?
amazing games !! the first one much scarier to me than the 2nd one ... played and beat both games on ps4 but ill double dip soon if no physical release
First game aint very good, Id give it 6/10 (okey). Excellent port though, the best PS4/Xbox-port so far.
Definitely buying day one. Worth every penny.
This comes out on my birthday so I almost feel obliged to get it. Not a fan of horror games though so naw.
I have watched some playthroughs of Outlast and from what I have watched doesn't really interest me that much. Also The Outlast: Bundle of Terror is on sale right now on the xbox one in the deals with gold section for the US for only $6.25 and also Outlast 2 is also on sale there also for $15.00. So you can actually get both games cheaper on Xbox One for only $21.25. Where as if you want a portable version it is going to cost you around $55.00 for both on the Switch.
Am I the only person who found Outlast 2 very repetitive and uninteresting?
I genuinely think the original Outlast is a million times better than this mediocre game with better AI and much more consistency in atmosphere and gameplay which goes to show that having prettier graphics doesn't make your horror experience better.
Regardless, for those who have never played this game and are excited for it - hope you all enjoy! I just hope the next Red Barrel game strays away from Outlast and tries something new.
Outlast 2 isn't a good game so... I'll just pass for now
Beat Outlast and loved it. Couldn’t put it down and actually wanted to finish it.
On the other hand, also bought Outlast 2 and was able to easily put it down and not finish it. I will some day finish it but I don’t know there’s something about it that hasn’t grabbed me the same way. I think I’m just more of a haunted house (mansion/asylum) fan and not a wide-open spaces horror kind of person.
Outlast 2 is great and it’s really fun but I just think compared to 1 it doesn’t have the same feel.
You should absolutely try both however! I’m planning to double dip once I get through some more of my backlog (that includes 3DS )
Why 2 is worst?
@JAPBOO Because 1 is better
@TommyTLG yes but lets forget first game... will 2 still be considered a good game or it has issues such as gameplay, frame rate, etc.
