Among the certainties in life - such as death and taxes - we have one thing guaranteed every year: a new Just Dance game. Yep, Just Dance 2018 is out on 26th October on Switch, Wii U and Wii; time to place your bets on the Wii version selling the best of the lot.
Now Ubisoft has released a demo in which you can dance to ‘24K’ by Bruno Mars; probably a track the kids are listening to nowadays. The demo is available on Switch and Wii U, you'll find it under the 'coming soon' area of the Switch eShop or through a 'News' post, while the Wii U eShop actually has a demo section for convenience.
Still, we're all holding out for the Wii version anyway, right?

I had my fill of these games by the time the Wii generation was over. I doubt I'll be going back now.
Nope.
I downloaded the demo couple of hours ago to see if there are any differences between it and Wii version of Just Dance games. My sister likes these games so I'm letting her try it out. I'm just singing along when she plays on Wii since the newer games have microphone support. I mainly want to check out if the Switch supports microphones as well.
I've always wanted to maintain my pride and diginity so I've never played any of these game farces. However if I do so choose to completely forfeit my manhood anytime soon, I think I'll still find a better way to do it. Cheers my friends.
I'm one of the few who's never played a single one of these games. I'm actually a little curious to try one out sometime.
No thank you.
@Yosher Same here. Never played a Just Dance game and I don't regret it.
Have never and will never play one of these “games.” I just don’t get the appeal and I absolutely loathe today’s popular music.
The only ones I've played have been: Just dance kids 2014, and Just dance Disney party, both on the Wii.
I tried the demo and honestly would prefer to play Big Rigs.
No Wii demo? Pfft. 0/10
I Just Won't be downloading it.
I have Michael Jackson: The Experience on Wii, and that'll do for me! Do these games really need a demo at this point...? Anyway, enjoy, if it's yo thang!
@Pahvi Just tried it out. Seemed like the two controllers are for two different people, at least in the demo. The controllers rumble in rhythm which feels good.
Still playing the 2017 demo with my kids. Between that and the snipperclips demo, who needs to buy anything? Another free song? Yes please!
Sorry, Just Dance... I only flail around embarrassingly on a DDR pad, thankyouverymuch.
Another free song.
Thanks ubi
These comments are hilarious. My wife will be all over this demo. She made me jump on board back on the Wii U Just Dance games and while I would never play them alone, they are a riot with my kids and family.
Puke!
Holding out for Just Dance: Shonen Knife.
This series will never stop, will it?
Is the Switch eShop that bad?
Love playing these with family/friends. Buy the new one almost every year on black friday when its down to $20-$25. Will check out the demo later today!
If the Switch version makes good use of the 2 Joycon per system for multiplayer plus HD rumble, that's reason enough to have one. Wii version will somehow survive w/o a demo. I'm very tempted to download the Wii U demo just to make sure my Wii U WiFi is working properly ahead of Champions Ballad DLC. Still waiting on a release date for that, so my Wii U is hanging in there.
Who is buying these games?
I love the 2017 Switch version. I can't believe that so many people are so bored that they post they won't buy this. The "What Is Love" car version (a la Night At the Roxbury) is one of the most joyful experiences in my 37 years of video gaming. I'll be getting the demo to test dual joycon support and then upgrade when my Just Dance Unlimited free trial lapses, as I expect another 90 days with the new purchase.
@WiiHawk maybe we can get one for man or Astro man too
@LiberatedAnimal your manhood is such a fragile thing. If playing a video game is enough to damage it.
this is what my little cousins asks me for Christmas every single year. But she moved from the WiiU to the PS4 in Jun.
Last years I found it on discount on Groupon in Dec. Probably wont happen on PS4 this year
I've never played a Just Dance game until pretty recently. I never thought that I would enjoy it but, it's actually a lot of fun (if you don't mind embarrassing yourself in front of your pets)
Can you actually get exercise from this? I wish there was a kind of modern DDR available. Miss playing that.
@Dang69 Yes. I ditched Wii Fit U for this. This is much more fun and I get a decent workout from it
I thought this was skipping Wii U?
HD Rumble! That felt really nice. Try it on the Switch.
@Darknyht : Nope. Let's Sing 2018 is skipping Wii U.
@MartyFlanMJFan : That is essentially a Just Dance game without the "Just Dance" branding. I'm pretty sure that the ABBA game was too (as well as Smurfs Party).
It's a shame that there aren't more pop classics in the Just Dance games. Contemporary pop has so little staying power.
@Trickbaby14 Oh I play video games all the time but, seldom actually I've never danced around like a hula girl to Justin Bieber songs while giggling and drinking Capri Suns with my girlfriends. Lol These games are for "Tween" girls bruv.
I will try it for sure. Thanks for the demo its always good To try free things like free food at the food store. Dance is important in human life.
Why would I play this game when I could be using that time to fall down the stairs or stare directly into the sun?
@Dang69 it is actually a good way to get some exercise at home! Similar to following an arobics video. You can work up a sweat. But you can also fake it out a bit just doing the arm motions, so it depends on what you put into it.
These are always a good time! My sister will be wanting this one for Christmas!
If you don’t want to dance, don’t play the game.
If you do want to dance, play it.
Even though the tracking only happens on one hand, it’s surprisingly good. In my many sessions with the game (– I teach elementary school and I play with my kids), I can see which kid in the group is dancing closest to the on-screen character, and it’s always that kid who wins the round.
My only beef with Just Dance is that the subscription plan requires a very fast and reliable internet connection, which I don’t have. I wish I could pick songs and cache them in local storage –– the game could save the video files and go online only to check that my membership is active –– this would be perfect for me. Oh well
Oh cool an 'I hate' workshop!
I hate veggi sausages.
There, I feel much better now. Thanks!
I'll give the demo a shot one day just because I'm curious about the HD rumble. If I bought one of these, it'd have to be the Wii U version though because I get the feeling my baby bro and niece would hog the Switch from me if I got that version.
@ZurapiiYohane Wait, they have Vocaloid songs in these games? Suddenly my interest is piqued.
No.
I will try this demo. Why not. They had a great fitness one for Wii, but the WIIU one sucked. I like playing this with my nephew and sister.
Nah...
Gimme Dance Dance Revolution Ace and I can dance all night long.
I wanna dance with this song.
@ZurapiiYohane
Popipo had me getting the demo so I tried it a few months ago. I would buy a Just Dance Miku game in a heartbeat but not for one song.
The playlist for the 35 standard songs on the cart is on YouTube. It includes a godawful Hatsune Miku song. My daughter is half Japanese and she hasn't gone near the j-pop songs. There does seem to be a k-pop song in 2018 that is a bit better though.
I really like the Just Dance series, and I never understood why it gets so much hate. It can be a lot of fun at social gatherings, much in the way Wii Sports was. I don't really care for their subscription options and I don't necessarily think they need a yearly update... but it's a fun, harmless game. It still sells well - and it actually sells the best on Nintendo consoles, so I see no harm in it being offered.
@jswhitfield8 It's puke in any language, on any platform.
I looked up the playlist of all the songs in this release and I felt kind of embarrassed I didn't know most of the songs. Browsing the videos though some of the songs have a lot harder dance movements than I remember when I played Just Dance. I remember I could play a song maybe twice and understood the movements but the movement patterns seem kind of harder in this one. Maybe I'm completely wrong though hmm
