Have you ever dreamt of getting up at the crack of dawn and riding about on a combine harvester? If that's you, then you'll be pleased to hear that Farming Simulator: Nintendo Switch Edition is headed to Nintendo's portable powerhouse on 14th November in North America and Europe.
While it's easy to dismiss a humble farming sim, this series is ridiculously popular. Farming Simulator 17 attracted a whopping one million players within the first month of it's launch. Even the German Chancellor Angela Merkel can't get enough of ploughing virtual fields.

As the Switch release draws near, the farm-loving folks over at Focus Home Interactive have put together a new launch trailer which you can watch above in order to learn exactly what the Switch version has to offer.
Let us know if you plan to pick this up in November with a comment below.

It looks good and with a lot of depth.
It's not my cup of tea but the more variety in the switches game library the better.
FYI you read it here first:
"Re: Switch's Latest Exclusive Is Based On A German Quiz Show
SteveF, Tue 5th Sep 2017 11:10am,
And next week: Garbage Truck Simulator (yes this game exists - we Germans know how to have fun -.-)"
We´re coming!
@SteveF I thought you were joking about Garbage Truck Simulator but I checked and it's a real thing. Who would want to play that? Why? I can't find any evidence that there's a Switch version on the way though. The Switch is full of garbage so maybe they can clean up with a port.
Never played one of these, and while it's no Harvest Moon, it actually looks like a good game overall. Might have to keep my eye on this one.
Speaking about Farming Simulator, last time we heard announcement from Marvelous about Bokujou Monogatari on Switch.
Hm... what will the game look like ?
Obviously I've heard of the franchise, but I've never actually played a Farming Simulator game. Watching the video though, I can tell it's something that I could really get into. I'm up for it!
I doubt I would have seen this if it wasn't for NL, so thanks for that. "Deep and relaxing" is my kind of flavor and I've never played a sim game like this, it's on the list!
Also, I enjoyed the video. Proves you don't need massively expensive effects and BS, just the maker telling you what it's about. Simple.
Looks good. Variety in games is always good
OK I Need help:
My daughter is turning 8, wants to be a farmer when she grows up.
Thought about this game for her present to give her a taste of farm life. Will she be able to understand it or does it assume knowledge of equipment, brands, etc. already?
Never thought people would want to play at work to relax, but hey, whatever powers your combine.
Oh I've got a brand new combine harvester and I'll give you the key.
I'm kinda curious. Always lived in the city, would be cool to experience the life of a farmer
@speedracer216 It is a bit more of a complex game. Certainly no Harvest Moon. On PC many actual farmers play these games, so in a way it really is a simulator.
You can't really underestimate kids though. Maybe something more realistic is exactly what she wants.
Still maybe hard to recommend for an 8 year old.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE It will come, I promise
Also get the bundle with "Night Guard Simulator". Endless hours in total darkness sitting on a chair!
who cares about farming when LA Noire just got confirmed!
go Rockstar!
That actually looks pretty fantastic. Might buy this version. First time.
I remember playing a farm simulator game as a kid. Not all that much, mind you. Little kid me couldn't figure out how to keep the farmers happy, and my wife would always leave and then my farmer would get depressed and give up. Not even a trampoline would distract them from their marital and financial crisis. Fun times.
@Fuz Darn Italians, running off to dave the princess instead of unclogging the drains...
Maybe as an Italian I should follow that advice.
The dew is on at the crack of dawn not fit for combining then😜......in Cumbria anyway 🙄☔️
Truck simulator is one of my guilty pleasures. Very zen. Farming simulators are fantastic for teaching kids about where the food on the supermarket shelves comes from. Great for playing with the young 'uns.
Looks like they're taking a lot of pride in it as well.
Looks like a good game, but it just isn't for me when I already do this stuff in real life.
Not for me but another addition to the game libary can not be sniffed at. I want the switch section in game stores to have great variety like this.
Some of the simulator games aren't bad. I'd like to see Emergency 2017 on the switch.
Hmmm....virtual field plowing? Pass!
I'm buying this. Day 1, not joking.
@SteveF Is Night Guard Sim real? Get out!! Hhahahaha it can't be.
Gotta say this game looks impressive! May consider a purchase and always good to see that retail box art!!!
It's kind of funny how these slow paced, complex sim games with very dry presentation are actually popular with elementary school children here in Germany.
This makes me really want Euro Truck Simulator 2 (or ATS) for any console, but Switch would just be such a godsend. My PC just isn't up to snuff with games anymore and I miss my long nights of zen meditation while driving for hours to country music to deliver some logs.
These simulators don't feel like playing a fun game, they feel like doing repetitive work.
And there's something creepy about these games as well, because despite all the realism, you never see something living out in the wild. No humans or animals, not even cars driving down the empty lonely streets. This series has an unfitting silent Zombie apocalypse atmosphere. Like some weird twilight shadow realm and you're the only survivor.
