THQ Nordic has confirmed that Switch owners will have to wait a little longer than their PC, Xbox One and PS4-owning counterparts to get their hands on Sine Mora EX.
The remastered shooter arrives on those platforms on August 8th, but the Switch edition still has no solid release date - the publisher is simply saying "later this summer". We've already revealed that Amazon currently has the Switch edition listed for $10 more than it costs on other consoles.
Given that summer ends in September, that would suggest that we'll see the game arrive around a month after the other versions, but the lack of a solid release date as yet is a little worrying.
Do you intend to pick this one up on Switch, or will you simply invest in one of the other editions, given that they're out earlier, and are cheaper?

Better late than never! Hope the extra $10 is just for physical.
I'm ok waiting, plenty of other games on my switch backlog.
Late, probably inferior and $10 extra. What's not to love?
It doesn't bother me, I'll still pick it up. My love for shoot-em-ups has returned big time this past 2 weeks. I've bought Blazing Star, Last Resort and Alpha Mission and love all of them. Aero Fighters 2 is coming in the next couple of weeks too,can't wait for that one. In the meantime I'll just play Splatoon 2.
I bought this years back on Vita and it was £9 full price, they better be adding a lot if they're charging £25 digitally.
Hell even £15 digitally is a huge price hike.
Still interested as I did like it, but again, they better be doing a lot too it. It's weird for such an old game to be launching at a price higher than it originally launched at.
I was thinking of picking up Sine Mora on Vita next time it's on sale. I could be tempted by EX on Switch, but It's got digital written all over it for me (although I like the box art). I do love a shmup. I'm currently hammering Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours on Vita.
Question is, what makes "EX" different to the other versions?
If it's significant, maybe, I like the idea that Sine Mora is now portable, but it'll need more for me to justify that price tag.
If I were desperate, I'd get the earlier version on Vita. Between Switch and homestuck platforms, even Remote Play doesn't make the choice that much less obvious.
I have confidence in THQ Nordic. They have shown more support and more commitment to the Wii U than many others, and their pricing seems moderate and fair to me in general, especially for what you get. BTW: On Amazon Germany the physical Switch version is only 2,71 EUR more than the PS4 and Xbox equivalent. Can't complain about that...
Not ideal, but am happy to wait a bit longer for the best version of the game
@Curlynob I bought Sine Mora the day it released on Vita and have played it to death, but this EX edition on Switch looks a lot better. Well, at least visually. If you can stomach the extra cost, I'd recommend getting it on Switch.
Though it has to be said, I'm getting a bit annoyed that seemingly every Switch game that I want is coming out later than other platforms. Why is this such a regular occurrence?!
Have it on pre-order but if they delay it any longer may cancel and get the Xbox one
Already preordered the Switch version for under £20 so I'm sticking with that.
All the features plus the ability to play it anywheres trumps waiting a little while longer.
That and the game case takes less space on the shelf.
I'm not sure if I will buy this game, but if I do I will buy it on Switch. I'm really a big Switch fan so I want to consider it my primary gaming device and I'm going to do everything I can to support it (except buying games that I'm sure I will never like at all just because they are available on it, of course)
I'll wait. Love shmups and this one looks great.
I have this on the vita and I love shoot em ups but got to say it's a bit lame really nice looking but lame
I never tried the original version of this game. I'm curious though, it's a shmup that's rated M. Anybody know why it's M rated?
@Switch99 I would guess it's because Nintendo didn't send out development kits till after the other versions were in development? I'm not passing that off as fact, it's just a theory.
@Curlynob And a sound theory it is. I hadn't thought of that
Really depends if there's any kind of incentive to buy for Switch. Loved the game on Vita, but I may be going PC if all is equal.
I'm very excited to pick this one up on Switch
Going with PS4 version then.
Enough with these Switch delays and extra Switch taxes.
I'm cool with waiting. Carry on!
...man looking forward to this one...
Why? The system is clearly selling well. These companies are about as stubborn as our political system...
I will have an HRAP on Switch. I will not have an HRAP on other platforms. Shmups and fighters automatically go to switch!
I don't know why I kept mixing this title up with Longest Day. Hope we see that come about again too, even if we can't have the anime with it.
Not too interested in this, maybe on sale. Don't believe I enjoyed it that much on PS3 and wasn't it also waaaay cheaper on those platforms? Curious what EX additions bring to the table.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE why on earth would it be inferior?
This looks great!
Great game, i pre-ordered long ago but the release date for all systems is December.
Naieve as I may be, I really thought we were passed this.
Please don't be late on Battle Chasers, but also can we have Darksiders3? I'll never stop asking for that one
Well many games that were further along on their dev cycle before a focus was made on Switch can't help but have later release dates. So it is what it is. I do wish the price hike would stop though...however go go Prime and GCU discounts!
Is this going to be another case where if it doesn't sell well when released on Switch, they'll back out of making more Switch games? Because this is self-sabotage when everyone will buy it elsewhere because they can't buy it on Switch at the same time. The only reason why the Switch version could possibly sell well with this scenario is because of portability, but I honestly hate how Nintendo's platforms are becoming afterthoughts. Rayman Legends was one of the first to push Nintendo off to the side by forcing Wii U owners to wait for a completed game half a year later in order to appease other platform owners, yet Nintendo platform owners don't get that same benefit. It's generally "after" other platforms get them.
@OorWullie how do you know Aero Fighters 2 is coming to Switch?
@wasilewski
http://nintendoeverything.com/upcoming-neogeo-games-on-switch/
@wasilewski A lot of the neogeo titles appear on the "coming soon" part of switch eshop too. For example the soccer one coming next week has been on there for a week almost, and nintendolife just mentioned it today.
once again, switcherella can only eat at the table after her stepsisters are finished.
@insertcoin2play Thanks!
@XenoShaun I never look there, but I will keep an eye on it. I'm always checking this page - http://www.hamster.co.jp/american_hamster/arcadearchives/switch/nendai_list.htm
@Curlynob
Have you tried Resogun or pixeljunk shooter, for vita, they should be right up your street
@EDF Thanks for the suggestions. I already have Resogun, but I haven't heard of Pixeljunk - I'll check it out. Super Stardust Delta is also a great shooter on Vita.
@Curlynob
Darius burst is another, there are plenty on vita, some good twin stick shooters, like deadnation and helldivers , Another ace for the Vita is velocity 2x. Also there are 5 to 6 on PS1 on the store and some old classic ones on ps mini from SNK
@wasilewski Sorry I missed your comment.It's already been answered anyway but I check the Arcade Archives Wikipedia page,every few weeks 3 or 4 new Switch titles are added to it with a TBA and nearly every time,they're on the Eshop within a month.
@OorWullie Thanks again. I read somewhere Hamster were going to be releasing some mahjong games on Switch. Personally I hope these don't count as their weekly title release.
@Curlynob Yep, that's a great shout from @EDF. PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate is one of my favourite shooters on Vita. It's much more than 'just' a shooter, too! Highly recommended.
Absolutely disgusted..not at the game not being released.. but the fact that the switch store had this on as a release right up to 12pm last night (Monday 7th august) (I had put money (50 pounds) in the switch wallet ready to purchase yesterday.
Checked it today (8th aug) ..only to find that it was moved to TBD.
Nintendo knew it was not to be released on time..yet the old classic 'keep it in the store and people will drop money into the wallet' trick was used. Absolutely disgusting and basically theft by Nintendo.
Don't show the game as to be released then pull it after the release date expires to get money from gamers. Gamers remember.....
Agreed, sabre_wulf1. I was waiting on it, too. If you haven't purchased Blazing Star I'd recommend that to tide you over. It's really good.
@Outrunner hi mate.. yes I have blazing star..could never afford a neo Geo years ago and I'm a scmup fan since the arcades of the 80's.
I do have sina mora on the PS3 ..fantastic game.
It's more Nintendo not removing the date that's got me narked off rather than sina mora. It's easily one of my fave shmups... Just noticed it's ten quid more than PS4 price too.. and that has trophies. (Trophy junkie) but would take the price hit to have it on handheld like switch.
Happy gaming pal
Was going to pre-order but realized it's $7.99 US on Steam... Will try there first and if the game's good purchase down the road when it goes on sale.
The Switch version has now been bumped to October 6th in the UK
