Skipmore's pixel-rich Switch eShop title Kamiko is getting its release in the West next week, on 27th April.
Priced at only £4.49 in the UK and $4.99 in North America, this looks like a winner for fans of Fairune and Fairune 2 on the 3DS Shop.

Looks nice.
At first i wantet to buy the japanese Version, since it also includes english text, but now i'm gonna wait for the European release.
Hmm, interestingly it's only £3.60 if you get it from the JP store through magic and warp whistles.
@AlexOlney Thank's for mentioning that
Might as well pick up the japanese Version if i get a japanese eShop Card in the future.
This news pleases me. The price difference however makes my head hurt. Is "Kamiko" worth 5 €uros? Stay tuned for the exciting upcoming review from Nintendo Life to find out.
@Nagi_Nagisa If you buy it on the Japanese Eshop, you wil get it too on the European Eshop.
I did some test, and it seems that no matter the Eshop you buy games on, you will unlock the game on every Eshop.
As it is cheaper on the japanese shop, you should buy it there. ^^
You might wanna fix the admin/edit links to your Fairune 1 & 2 pages.
@AlexOlney Wow, that is interesting. Can I change my region from UK to Japan and use my existing eShop credit?
@Moon You can't...
You can create a new user on the my.nintendo site, picking the japanese region, create a new user on you Switch, and link the 2 together.
But for the money, there's no way to transfer it from one account to another.
I've been loving this game! If anyone hasn't already picked it up using a Japanese eshop account I suggest you do so when it comes west.
neat, I was tempted to buy this on the JP eShop but I guess I'll just wait a week instead
@Mopati Thank you for telling me this
I seem to be getting a bit of a back log building up! Nice.
@Mopati Yeah, thought so. I do already have a Japanese account for demos and stuff... It's just the way Alex said 3.60 made it sound that maybe there's an easier way! Thanks for your help though
As a man who liked both Fairune games, why should I pass up on this?
looks great the price difference is strange but I cant be bothered with the hassle of opening another account so an extra 90p isn't the end of the world.
@AlexOlney @Dazza What @RupeeClock said!
I'm still hoping for Divinity Original Sin to come.
Glad to know CIRCLE Entertainment is publishing games on Switch as well it have been doing on 3DS. Nice little indie gems from the East they have brought us!
Also, I love Skipmore works: a retro pixel and sound delights in shorts bursts of simplicity yet fun and cool art design that creates a nice feeling of magical places.
Already in love with the piece of music presented in this video <3
(just wish that Fairune 2 music was on par with this one and the first game)
That boomerang looks like it'd get old real fast. I also personally don't care for combo counters, feels way to stressful to constantly be incentivized to keep it going.
@Shiryu I look forward to it! For such a cheap price, I'm considering giving it a shot.
@Shiryu 5 euros wouldn't buy you a large beer in most European countries
A crap large beer at that
@darthstuey They would on mine... but I don't do alcohol anyway.
Can't wait for this. It looks to be in the same world as Fairune and it's sequel. Should be a fun 2 - 4 hour game.
I wouldn't mind it if they brought those two games over to the Switch as well.
Another game with the 8-bit look, it's a novelty for awhile, but that trick's is wearing thin. Hopefully, the Gameplay will be up to far. But it would have been better if they had presented a modern look (like the Wonder boy remake).
@Mopati This surely can't be the case, because your email address would be different and also it's not linked to the same NNID, hence why money doesn't transfer across regions.
Stuff I've downloaded on my Japan account doesn't show up in my European account and vice versa.
5 bucks? I'm getting it. It got an 8 on Destructoid. Reminds me of Hyper Light Drifter's art style.
Saw somebody complete a single playthrough in 15 minutes.
Even for $5, that seems very short and lacking in substance.
After all the hoops I had to jump through to buy it off the Japanese eShop, now it comes to the west... Oh well. Lol I already finished it.
@audiobrainiac I've grown tired of most 8/16 bit indie games coming out these days, but something about HLD's style is just infinitely better than anything else out now.
You should check Narita Boy on Kickstarter.
I will likely pick this one up!
@alasdair91 Strange, games I have dowlnoaded on my Japanese account did show up in my Europe account and vice-versa.
With only one exception : the puyo puyo tetris demo didn't work that way.
I scratched my head when I saw this, but I eventually realised that it's because they actually are different version.
You have to win 2 times to win the match in the japanese version, and only 1 in the european one.
Are you sure you are not talking about this demo when you say this?
CIRCLE, you are just the best, you know that.
@Shiryu It is. 100%.#spoiler
I saw this on the Japanese eshop but I've been waiting for a Nintendolife review
@Steve_Bowling I'm setting funds aside as we speak.
@Mopati Puyo Puyo doesn't show up, you're right. But neither does all the other stuff I've downloaded from EU eShop. They doesn't show up on the Japanese one.
Which is annoying. Nintendo should just have made one world wide store...
@alasdair91 When you say they doesn't show up, you mean that they are not in the store?
If it's the case, then I'm sorry, it seems I wasn't clear enough....
I meant that when a game can be bought in the Europe and Japanese Eshop, for exemple, if you buy it on the European one, it will be free to download from the Japanese one.
And if you try to download from one store, you will have the exact same version as if you tried from the other one.
Stoked. Tried to get this from Japanese eshop but it wouldn't accept my Visa card. Now I'll get it in a few days anyway, cool.
@Mopati I mean that when I check my downloads in the Japanese store it only lists things I downloaded from the Japanese store (2 demos), not anything from the EU store.
@alasdair91 Ah, don't worry. If you buy things in the Japanese store, they will be free in the other stores.
You can't really test it with demos.
Except that if you try, for example, to download the snipperclips demo from the japanese store, you will get it not in japanese, but in your langage.
@Mopati Ah, so you have to buy it in the Japanese store for it to register in your local store? That would explain why Snipperclips and my other games don't show up in the Japanese store, since I bought them from the EU store originally.
@AlexOlney Here is your magic to get it from the JP store.
https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/5y26nn/guide_how_to_get_japanese_eshop_codes_from/
Worth checking out. Could be in one of your videos, I guess, it could be pretty useful for a lot of people.
@alasdair91 Yep, that's exactly that. ^^
Don't hesitate to use that trick to pay less, or to get games in advance as most of the japanese games already have the English langage.
@techdude Agreed so much. I'm getting really tired of seeing "retro game" "8-bit style". It's wearing thin. If we're still getting excited for 8 bit graphics and gameplay in 2017 why did we ever upgrade from our NES's?
Wonder Boy doesn't take the modernization far enough. Going 1:1 to the original leaves it with some very uncomfortably out of date design concepts that the game would have been much better without, but at least it feels like a modern game in general with all the updating to it. It's amazing how different it feels when you go back to 8-bit. You wouldn't think graphics and sound design make THAT big of a difference but they do.
@Mopati Dó You need to have your NNID connected to the Japanese eShop though? Because I only have it connected to my European eShop. I only have a new Nintendo Account on the Japanese eShop. How would it share my purchase with my European account?
It's all very confusing haha
@alasdair91 You don't need to worry about NNID and all of that. The games you buy are connected to your Switch, no matter with wich account you bought them. ^^
YEAHHH!! I wanted this game so much. Sooo glad is coming to Switch.
Edit: ohh is in the Japanese eshop and cheaper! Time to setup a JP account then.
I'd rather support Circle and their localization efforts than bother with a Japanese account just to save a [redacted] dollar.
Yeah I'm going to pick it up. It's only what like 1.29 more than the North American Eshop so it's really not that big of deal. I just hope this doesn't become a common practice when more expensive games come out. I guess when this goes on sale it really won't be a sale. I'm just going to buy it and enjoy it. If it's near as good as Fairune it will be worth it
This was an insta buy for me, as I've kind of become a fan of the devs. Its really good so far, and I love the art style.
@darthstuey Thas true, but in my country, you can buy 3 big beers (0,5 L)
Cheapest game on Eshop, okay!
