Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 isn't far away in the West, bringing us a flashy sequel to one of the standout 3DS eShop titles; it's due to land on 30th September.
The sequel is certainly ramping things up with the cast, in particular, with a range of allies - including the playable Copen - and a group of rather neat foes called The Seven. There'll be various abilities and play types ripe for experimentation.
Over the weekend Inti Creates released a localised video showcase focused on the game's characters; it's quite a watch, check it out below.
Are you planning to grab this in late September? Let us know in the comments.

More and more I'm getting sold on this
I really hate the narrator.
I hated him when the first localized trailer for the first game came out, and I still do now.
They should've just stuck with subbing the Japanese narrator- like they did for the first trailer for the first game.
Anyways, nice to see that they actually re-recorded skill activation quotes to fit with the localized names. In general, the localization feels much more streamlined than the first one's- and that's really good.
The first one was awesome.
Plus cats
A day one buy for me!
@CrazedCavalier At least they didn't say something along the lines of "anime fan at prom"
I'm so glad they learned their lesson with the first one, and don't go cutting voice acting and story bits from the sequel when bringing it over. I'd buy this Day One, but the fate of the physical double pack in EU is still uncertain, so that pretty much decides if I'm going to get the digital version or buy the physical double pack. Seeing how Rising Star Games managed to make Shantae's physical 3DS release happen, I hope they can get the same deal for EU distribution of Gunvolt, too.
@Ed_Fairway Considering that the company head is the one who cursed Deep Silver out about that and there's an (admittedly crappy-looking) OVA adaption of the first game happening, I'd hope not.
@CrazedCavalier Aye, the OVA seemed a tad generic.
@Ed_Fairway My problem with it (as much as anything else) is that it could be a perfect opportunity to expand upon GV and his history with QUILL- a straight adaption just can't work as a one-off, and they aren't going to get anybody interested in it who hasn't played the game.
And yet that seems to be what they're doing. The second trailer just lowered the bar for me by alot- at least we get a new Lumen song out of it.
Looks fun. The 2pack is a must have for me.
Was anyone else laughing as The Seven were introduced?
Like how he pronounced Asrock? Or... well what does arthritis hafta do with crystals?
And of course the extraordinary maids, which I'm guessing is the Alfred to their Batman? Or maybe the Pepper Potts to their Iron Man?
@CrazedCavalier Or make Copen a more sympathetic character. They could've taken a note from the Persona 4 animation or better yet the Persona 3 movies; really alleviated some of the hate people had towards Ken Amada. But like you said, this should've been an opportunity to expand the lore rather than adaptation of what they already have.
@Tempestryke Definitely Potts for Copen
Amuse-Bouche....... Seriously... As a French-Canadian I laugh at that meaning... an ''amuse-bouche'' is something you eat while waiting for your dish at a party. Like the ones that the waiter/waitress has on a plate.
@Ed_Fairway @Tempestryke Actually, Alfred. A side story previously featured her, and she's very much a parental substitute for Copen and Myttyl (their mother died a while back, and their father more recently and was involved in the Azure Striker program- it's implied that it was Asimov who killed him).
@spyro202 Well, the guy's an aspiring pastry chef on the side who can't make it big due to discrimination. Meaning is entirely consistent with the character.
@CrazedCavalier Well put
@spyro202
Really? I didn't know that. In fact I had no idea what he was supposed to be.
Will definitely get this close to it's release! Looks really fun!
Still need to get around to finishing the first game, could give this a look some days after its released.
I hope they make upgrades findable or just plain buyable rather than requiring parts, maybe just reward with parts based on rank?
