The 3DS eShop sure has a variety of educational apps, and WordsUp! Academy by CoderChild will aim to stand out above the crowd soon.
It's pitching itself as a game that allows players to both learn and practice six languages - Spanish, German, English, French, Italian and Portuguese. There'll be six game modes to help you do this, while you'll be able to post scores from these challenges to online leaderboards.
It sounds good in principle and is apparently 'coming soon'. The name also reminds us of a piece of classic '80s music (which humorously crept into a typo in the press release, too), so as there's no trailer for the game we'll share that instead...

A first career in language teaching showed me that educational resources like this tend to be quite lame. You're almost always better off with orginal material in the source language. Still, no details whatsoever yet, so unfair to be so dismissive.
Also, are they teaching ognon or oignon now?
I'm glad someone remembers that song. There's far too many people I know that are only familiar with the Korn cover.
@argh4430 I was actually familiar with the Mel B. (Of the Spice Girls) cover first as it played during the ending credits of Austin Powers 2.
@argh4430 Yeah the Korn cover is the first thing to come to mind when I hear those words :x
I will checkout the rating on this one. Somebody should make an RPG type game which teaches you a language. It might hold a lot of interest for people
