For those of you that weren't aware, Dementium: The Ward was a first person horror title originally developed for the Nintendo DS. Interestingly enough, there were aspirations early on in development to turn it into a new Silent Hill game for the platform, but Konami turned down the offer. After the relative success of the Moon Chronicles remake on the 3DS eShop, Renegade Kid decided to give Dementium the same treatment, arguably the better of the two games.
Perhaps in an effort to soften the blow of Mutant Mudds Super Challenge being delayed till next year, it was recently revealed that Dementium Remastered will be launching on 3rd December in North America. It's currently unknown when (or if) the game will release in Europe, but perhaps Renegade Kid will surprise us. Take a look at the announcement video:
What do you think? Will you be picking this up? Do you want to see the second Dimentium get a makeover, too? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

looking forward to playing this again.
Talk about Creepy.
I'll either wait for a review or if the price is right and can't pass it up. I was less then impressed with Moon Chronicles.
Beaten the original last month once again, so unless there was a survival mode or something new worth while, it will have to wait!
I have a feeling a lot of stuff will be released on third December by now. I don't have a list, but I distinctly remember quite a few other stuff being announced for the same date. Here's hoping Cloud, Midgar and the Smash broadcast itself will drop by that very date.
Looks great for a 3DS title.
@Undead_terror If I remember right, there's new difficulty modes and enemies don't respawn anymore.
I think you've mentioned it in a previous article but I remember reading that Renegade Kid is waiting for the IARC rating system to be added to the 3DS before releasing Dementium in Europe. Here's to hoping they'll finally release Moon Chronicles as well.
I would still like it if Renegade Kid gave their European fans some kind of a message stating whether or not we should be waiting for these games to be released in the region because their silence regarding the matter is annoying.
@MitchVogel I know of that, while it's fine and dandy, it's nothing I would consider a must buy as for the time being, as said might get it down the road, however playing through the same game over so soon would be pretty boring, at least I can look forward to the D2 remake because the original had a survival mode and should be brought back.
I'm going with @Spoony_Tech on this one, seems interesting but I'll wait on more info. I didn't pick it up the first time around but I've heard that it was pretty good. With enhanced Stereoscopic 3D added this might be a freakin' sweet feature!
Sounds great! Hope they don't forget about Europe, again.
On a side note, I wish devs would announce games maybe 3 or 6 months before release instead of two or three years before release (just like this).
It's just annoying, this will come out in the US on the 3rd, everyone in Europe will read reviews, watch some videos or even full walkthroughs of the game, then it might get a release here in Europe in 6 months or so and we will have lost interest and not get it, so then devs look at the poor sales figures and think that us Europeans are not interested and then the cycle begins all over again.
/rant, over.
I think you spelled Dementium wrong in the last line? Anyway... being someone not from the USA, I can't get too excited about this, can I? Fingers crossed it does come out because out of all their games their FPS interest me the most. I mean, the 3DS doesn't have any FPS!
imo Mutant Mudds can't compete with Mario (or even Chibi Robo) - but Dementium sure beats nothing. Euro release please!
Should have made a wiiu version
Maybe someday Renegade Kid will again release games in Europe also.
@Moon I like your last parting comment there. I agree about Mudds. There is a couple of Fps options though but one is from them as well that's why I'm waiting to see if it will be worth my while as I didn't care for it much.
Loved the original on the DS and excited to finally have a release date for the remaster!
I said it before and I'll say it again... MINE!
Moon Chronicles was released in the US back in February, and we still haven't seen or heard anything about a EU release !!! Dementium Remastered will probably never see a EU release as well .
The developer made a lot of effort to create these remastered games for the 3DS. But obviously doesn't see any financial benefit in making an inexpensive digital EU release!!! That's very worrying,
Under normal circumstances, you would think that releasing the game in Europe would be the most obvious thing in the world. Getting some money back from your effort and investment, by making a much smaller investment in an inexpensive European digital release. It's not like they have to do a lot of translation work, as with Japanese titles. And still they can't be bothered.
E-shop games must really sell bad in Europe. That's the only possible explanation I have. Or the management of Renegade Kid aren't that smart when it comes to finance?
Day one purchase!!! How much is this game anybody know?
Definitely want this as I've been on a survival horror kick as of recently. I would like Dementium II as well. I want Resident Evil Remake from Capcom, too, on the 3DS or New 3DS. Spirit Camera sequel sounds nice, too.
