At the time of writing the working day is beginning in Japan, and Super Mario Maker is in stores courtesy of the country having a 10th September release date for the Wii U title. Ahead of time from a Western perspective, then, Nintendo has been good to its word of sharing the Art Design Booklet for the game for free online.
This booklet comes in its printed form with all physical retail editions, so this web-based PDF version is primarily in place for those that opt to buy the eShop version of the game. Naturally you're free to gawk at it regardless and get a sense for what's on offer.
In addition to some lovely designs to look upon, there are numbers there which... well, just explore the game and try them out.
You can check it out on this page if you so desire, or wait for your own copies later this week, of course.

HYYYYYYPE.
...Stupid Japan, getting the game a day before us. TwT
Ok guys we get it! Mario Maker is out soon, people are excited.Mario's 30th anniversary blah blah, I get it. But all these Mario articles..........arrrgghhh!!!
I really hope you're planning a Project Zero retrospective leading up to the release of PZ5, or something cool leading up to Starfox Zero.
Will the booklet included with the game be hard-cover?
@MikeW The book they had on Nintendo Minute was not hardcover. And what is this pdf? I've only glanced at it, but it seems there should be more text, even if it's Japanese.
@ThomasBW84
I just did the eshop preorder today when I found out NA isn't getting a just the game and Amiibo bundle.
It mentions this file in the receipt but also that you can get one physical copy of the book delivered free of charge with your purchase.
I hadn't read anything about that so I didn't know if it was well known or not.
@DarthKirby It appear to be a catalogue of the courses in Super Mario Maker, as well as codes to unlock them.
It also appears to have some basics in level design down, too, as well as design documents for some levels in the very first Super Mario Bros.
And, it feels like a Nintendo employee handbook, if you know what I mean, with the artwork and all.
Awesome share
Really nice that there is a pdf version for this collectible! Looks really nice, and it does give some creative ideas for stages
This artbook doesn't justify the price of the game.
Still, its cool looking.
@FLUX_CAPACITOR all good! I didn't mean it in a nasty/negative way! (More a sarcastic kinda way) I wouldn't take much of what I say too seriously, its usually a load of rubbish!
@FLUX_CAPACITOR F-Zero and Project Zero are two different series of games.
I live in UK and it's September 10th and I just got Super Mario Maker today! Their is already loads of course created by Japanese gamers and they are all soooooo difficult.
I like Lanky Mario.
Got the game yesterday in Germany! The manual is amazing with lots of stories and tips! =)
Comparing the Japanese and European art books I found a password that's in Japanese one but not in the European one...interesting. Maybe there are more differences.
@IAmDeclanJay Who did you order it from? I got mine on pre-order (have had it pre-ordered as soon as it was put for pre-order) from Nintendo Store UK, and they said estimated delivery Monday 14 September
@Funky_Kong
Cool! Can't wait to get it!
