It wasn’t long ago a prototype of the upcoming Mewtwo amiibo was spotted in the wild at the San Diego Comic-Con following the pocket monster’s DLC arrival in the latest Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS.
Since then, nothing appears to have changed, with photos of the final model of the Mewtwo amiibo design and packaging now released.

@Dweeb Just buy it for display purposes, its what I do plus you never know in the future they might actually be worth it; the only amiibo I consider worth it are the Fire Emblem ones because of Code STEM and FE: Fates

I have the little figurine that came with the PKMN TCG Mewtwo set (with a giant Mewtwo EX card), but this...my childhood demands I get this.

That design looks great. I've become quite obsessive with amiibo and have been trying to get one of each, so I'll definitely add this to my collection. Plus, I love Pokemon so this one is a must have.

@Alundra-1998 That is an impressive collection but my word what a money pit!! I'm striving for one of each amiibo and am struggling to justify the cost of the whole thing.

Hmm. I've mostly given up trying to collect Amiibo. This will be my last one, IF I can find one.
Just been into my local Game store and the shelves are packed with amiibo. Finally the supply issues seem sorted and I got a Rosalina, Ike, Ganondorf and Ness to add to the collection.
I imagine my kids will want this ine, though I'm pretty sure they already have several toys that look just like it so maybe they'll pass.
If Wii U gets Pokken Tournament and Meetwo is unlocked via amiibo then maybe.
@rjejr: My kids (6yr old) have been very ambivalent towards our few amiibo. They were way more into Skylanders and Disney Infinity, so kinda glad about that. With Disney 3.0 Star Wars lurking around the corner, there are clearly other things to drain the old gaming budget.
@bluedogrulez We just signed up for Netflix recently and I noticed there are about 122 episodes of Star Wars: Clone Wars. I knew that show existed, but I didn't realize what a marketing tool it must have been over these past few years. I hate the look of the Disney Infinity toys - that is NOT Han Solo - but for kids watching that show for 5 seasons they must be really excited for DI 3.0.
I'm ready to hear which store it'll be exclusive to...

@Joenen Howevr, I would have to say that the recent exclusives have gone well (Dark Pit, Palutena, Retro 3-Pack). Hopefully if Mewtwo is exclusive he'll be stocked up the wall and through the roof..

I try to get duplicates when possible, but it's not a huge deal. Currently, the only duplicates I have are of Jigglypuff, and Gold Mario. Trying to find a Marth, haha
I only buy my favorites, including this one, which means I have a huge amiibo collection. Fortunately, I care little for the Animal Crossing series, so I am spared that frenzy.
I am going to be livid if this becomes a store exclusive... it may compel me to just get a Japanese version.
So im guessing Falco and the 4 DLC characters will comprise their own wave in Nov or Dec?
@Alundra-1998 oh, I forgot about that feature! I dig the coop but only play it when my sister is over. Might try double yoshi now that you mentioned it. I only have the pink yarn yoshi. Haha, your a fan of Mr. Gamer, aren't you? Well it's cool that you can replace him with different poses
