Xenoblade Chronicles 3D has many qualities, such as the scale of the adventure and the well-crafted real-time combat mechanics, yet any list of praise should also reference its music. Sweeping orchestral numbers, low-key yet beautiful piano melodies, its range is vast and contributes a great deal to the experience; this is a game to play with headphones plugged in.
Nintendo and its development partners have been pretty strong in the soundtrack stakes in recent years, and the big N has occasionally celebrated terrific music with live orchestral and band performances. We've enjoyed videos of these, too, with memorable recent examples for Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8.
Nintendo's now released five videos of performances from the Xenoblade Chronicles soundtrack - Main Theme, Gaur Plain, Mechanical Rhythm, Engage the Enemy and You Will Know Our Names. If you're a fan of the game, great music or both, you should check these out.

Man, Kado is pretty killer on those drums!
I'm really liking these kinds of videos, it's interesting to see the actual performers play it, and also how they play in general. It gives me some kind of better connection to the music.
I WANT THAT MONADO FOR MY WALL!!!!!!
That music though... This is definitely a game that I'll play with headphones plugged in!
This is really nice. Are there live videos of this band performing Makna Forest, Valak Mountain and Eryth Sea?
I really like this direction Nintendo has gone with their soundtracks lately. It seems like a good fit of live instruments and orchestral feeling when necessary. Here's hoping they keep up the same standard in Zelda U.
@luizssb
Too late for many, I fear; the track was in Super Smash Bros. Wii U after all.
There, that's it. These videos just convinced me to buy Xenoblade Chronicles 3D. I am officialy hyped.
I want that Monado so badly
I'd do anything to have that Monado.
Also the soundtrack is really awesome, which is why I'd want to get the soundtrack someday.
Xenoblade Chronicles has my favorite soundtrack of all time, even though I haven't been able to play it yet. It's so expensive, and so is a N3DS.
Such an amazing soundtrack. Engage the Enemy is so beautiful and appears in so many emotive moments in the story.
Best soundtrack ever.
Can I buy this music? I'd love to download it on my phone or pop a CD in my car.
@luizssb Beyond the Sky? (I've beaten it on my Wii U)
Do they have "One Who Gets in Our Way"? That's my favorite.
I actually like this arrangement of Gaur Plains better than the one in the game. It sounds more jazzy with the acoustic guitar and I love it!
If it's possible to remove it from the stand, I want that Monado. I want to perform the "I'm really feeling it!" taunt in real life.
Don't remember why but I got a download code for the soundtrack when I bought it for wii. Got a shiny red pro controller to boot. In any case, brilliant music, brilliant game.
Just epic. :')
Incredible!
I'm really impressed by the main theme... the Viola part sounds pretty awesome! Too bad the other arrangements only have violin parts...
I'm pretty sure that buying the soundtrack to this game was the best investment I've ever made in my entire life. But now I want a 4-disc soundtrack of these arrangements, too.
THEY'VE GOT A GOOD RHYTHM GOING!
Sorry I just had to...
These are phenomenal!
That main theme. Damn, Violins always get me.
Oh the other hand, I find pretty much anything Rock related Japan makes is generic and never works.
Dang! This makes me REALLY want to start playing Xenoblade. Will probably buy the game asap.
Never played the game but I enjoy the look of it from what I see on Smash Bros., and this music is great I may hunt down the Wii version...still using Wii mode quite a lot these days...
