Retro City Rampage was a welcome slice of anarchic madness on WiiWare, though the flaws of the service and a download userbase long gone blunted the title's impact on Nintendo's system. Nevertheless, it was released on pretty much every other platform, so it was pleasing when the 3DS was confirmed as joining the Rampage.
Although initially aiming for a 2013 arrival, Vblank Entertainment's Brian Provinciano has confirmed that despite the title going to Nintendo for approval in early December it didn't quite make it out for a release on the handheld this year. Nevertheless this version is confirmed for Q1 2014 with a price of $9.99 in North America, which is $5 lower than the standard price on other platforms. Another positive is that it'll also arrive in Australia and New Zealand as well as Europe and North America; 2014 will be the first time the title arrives Down Under.
We had a lot of fun with this on WiiWare, as you can see in our review, and expect more of the same on 3DS. Are you tempted to pick this up on the portable?

The kind creator Brian Provinciano also just sent me a free Steam code because I pre-ordered last year. I have RCR on Steam and Vita (from another free code he sent out) but I'll get the 3DS version just to support him.
I don't think I will pay more than 5 quid for this again. (And I can wait. Otherwise I would have ended up paying more for this than A Link Between Worlds for example which doesn't seem right to me).
Day 1 buy for me. I'm a bit dissapointed it won't be released sooner but I have plenty of games to play. Besides, Q1 release timeframe is just around the corner.
On my wishlist.
I have been waiting for it!! So excited. I also keep meaning to grab the Wii Ware one, just to support him.
Uhh... I've had it on PC for a long time now and I live in NZ... do you mean on Ninty consoles?
Why does this game keep getting delayed....
You bet it will Hit Australia and New Zealand :l
Count me in on day1
I caved in a month ago and switched my region from Australia to England to get it through WiiWare. This is still great news for Aussies though, cheers!
I made a promise that I would buy this game 3 times because he kept his word on the Wiiware version.
3rd time purchase.
YEeeeeeesssssSSSS!!!!
just one more 3DS game to look forward to~
definitely getting this. it looks cool.
@Skeletor I wouldn't bother buying the wiiware one if it's just to support him, as i believe that due to Nintendo's sales threshold (before developers see any of the money) none of the cash would go to him. I could be wrong though.
@luke88 Drats, that's right. Well, maybe I'll hit up a Steam copy, then, so I can have handheld, as well as something on a bigger screen!! Thanks for the reminder!!
It's on my list. Looks like fun.
@Skeletor Steam has a sale on it currently (67% off currently), so I'd recommend getting it now.
Can't wait!
