Last November, we reported on the unfortunate news that 5th Cell had delayed the release of Scribblenauts Unlimited in Europe until 2013. Since then, it's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Maxwell's upcoming adventure.
After the delay, it was revealed that both Wii U and 3DS versions of the game would launch on the 8th February, but it was delayed again only a couple of days before it was to hit the shelves.
After the announcement of Scribblenauts Unmasked, questions were rising as to the whereabouts of Unlimited, and if it would ever make it to European shores.
The wait may well and truly be over, as according to Official Nintendo Magazine, the game is set to launch in Europe this December. We reached out to Nintendo UK for clarification on this status, and were greeted with this positive response:
We are sorry for this delay and any inconvenience this may have caused, but we are happy to announce that this game will be coming to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS in December.
We've been waiting patiently for the game's release, and it's good to know we don't have to wait much longer to reacquaint ourselves with Maxwell.

Everybody at NL earning your paychecks today
I know the good folks in Europe are a game behind, but take it from me, Unlimited is worth it. I'd give it a 9/10. Excellent game, lots of fun.
"About time!", "Better late then never!" and all those rants we always hear about these things.
Does this mean the first game now comes out after the second one? This was supposed to be a key launch window title, half of which didn't make it. Ambassador programme please!
guess they were waiting so they could offer it in a bundle with the 2DS
Woo, I may even get this now!
Ahh finally ! Can't wait to discover this with my son. Christmas present.
yay c:
Rather get Unmasked.
It will have been on sale on steam three times by then for under $5. I was excited when this was announced for WiiU for early 2013 and was waiting to preorder. Then as the delays started stacking up I eventually got tired of checking back and forgot about it. This now reminded me of it but I just realized I no longer really care. I may get it on steam during one of the holiday sales, but with unexplained delays of almost a year I feel somebody is just jerking my chain. That region lock working out for ya Nintendo?
I was planning on getting it for Wii U, but as @Sceptic said, the delay and the sales on Steam made me buy it for PC.
I am the same. The delay was annoying me and I just decided to get the steam version. I have yet to play it but I couldn't say no it €7 for it (and it has workshops as well)
same as lichirichi and silenthunter382, bought it on steam for 4€. I thought it'll never came out in europe.
Over a year after America and Australia got it.
I didn't have to think twice about getting it on steam - £45-£50 or £7...?
Well, it's really nice it's finally coming. Personally I'm not interested in buying it, but it's nice to see that Nintendo actually cares about releasing all the titles it can, especially as the line up isn't too great in numbers.
I really can't wait for this game. I was hoping to get it at launch (before all the delays), so I've been waiting so long for it. Roll on December!
But I wonder, will Unmasked have all the possibilities, including Nintendo characters, PLUS DC characters?
Yes!
So does this mean Warner finally sorted out the legal issues (they did not get permission for I think it was keybaord cat)? I can imagine Nintendo holding back on a launch until such things took place.
Also would be nice if Mario etc are in the 3DS version given their reason for not being included in the US release was the game going gold before the deal was down.
I want it released in Japan too.
My expectations about this one are great, especially after the localization issues in the DS versions...
