Nintendo Europe has confirmed that Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge will launch on January 11th 2013.
The blood-soaked action title comes to Europe almost two months after it sees release in North America. The street date in that region is November 18th - Wii U launch day.
Here's the list of exclusive Wii U features, ripped from the twitching corpse of the press release:
- The return of Dismemberment: The Wii U version of the game restores enemies’ ability to fight with severed arms or legs, requiring players to stay nimble with their battle strategies.
- Ayane as a playable character: In previous versions of the game, Ayane appeared only briefly in one cut scene. Now players can help her progress through her own exclusive chapters using a special set of weapons and Ninpo attacks.
- Character-progression system: Using Karma points earned during gameplay, players can upgrade weapons and Ninpo, learn new moves, increase their HP level and unlock new character costumes.
- Ryu and Ayane playable in co-op mode: For the first time, players can use Ryu or Ayane to represent themselves in the game’s online co-op mode.
- Test of Valor battle areas: Each chapter includes a hidden battle area called Test of Valor. Upon finding hidden Crystal Skulls, players will be transported to these areas to face down waves of enemies and classic NINJA GAIDEN boss characters with new moves.
- Wii U GamePad Functionality: Using the Wii U GamePad, players can easily change weapons or Ninpo attacks, and also quickly reference the button inputs required for various combo attacks without ever stopping the action.
- Additional Playable Characters: After the launch of the game, additional playable characters will become available as free downloadable content. More information on these characters will be revealed at a later time.

It's looking really good.
I guess that'll give me something to play once I'm starting to get bored of my launch day titles.
Looking really, nice definitely getting this one on launch!
I liked Ninja Gaiden on DS. Will probably get this when it's a bit cheaper.
ONLINE CO-OP!!
I was hoping for a launch day alongside Wii U on Europe, but anyway waiting a little longer won't do me any harm!
That's a shame. Oh well, I'll get something else at launch and wait for NG3.
On that topic, how come there isn't an article about NFS: Most Wanted?
@LeVideoGamer It hasn't been announced for the wii u.Looks like the wii u has the best version.
LOL Free DLC?
Amazing this game is redone from scratch, now PS3/360 versions really suck if they didn't before.
Didn't really enjoy the demo at Nintendos booth at comic-con but then again that was the first time I played any ninja gaiden game. Hope this game does turn out good!
I honestly really wouldn't mind this.
First time I ever saw the press release for this game. I never know that this have online co-op and additional downloadable characters. I only knew about the other wii features from that Wii U preview event but that's news to me.
Eh, the PS3/360 version was pretty bad and I doubt this will be much better even with the new features.
hope team ninja can redeem themselves with this installment... I believe so nintendo has given them the green light to bring ninja gaiden back to its hardcore roots....
Though I was a fan of the gore back when I was a kid... not so much at my old age...
either way hope this title does well...
@The_Fox It's not just new features, they are making upgrades and changes to the whole gameplay.
@Shining-Void Called it!
@The_Fox It is better
