Last year's release of Call of Duty: Black Ops came with a nice surprise: support for the new PDP Headbanger headset for online play, a notable improvement over Wii Speak's use in previous online games. PDP and Activision obviously both believe they were onto a good thing, as the headset will be making a return for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 in November.
From the information available so far it doesn't seem the headset makes any improvements over last year's model, other than adding a neat MW3 logo, but as there's no competition in the Wii headset field we think PDP will probably clean up again.

Is it usable in Monster Hunter?
@1 Nope.
Already got the white one. It's nice, except for the cord.
Dang it. I can't find a wii speak anywhere and my wireless keyboard is hard to use during play.
Do want... The game atleast the head set is give or take.
Hopefully they actually try with the Wii Version...

@Kid_Crono: They really seemed to with Black Ops, don't see why this would be any different. Except for, y'know, DLC that should be there.
@Kid_Crono - I found the Wii Version of Black Ops to be a great game. I expect no less from MW3.
I just want to see some good graphics and none of this PS2 crud. :l
@3 unless you can find Wii Speak in a bargain bin (I picked up three for Au$5.00 ea) don't bother wasting your US$30.00 (or so) unless you've got any of the handful of games listed here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_Speak and/or a bunch of friends whom you already PM via your console.
The PDP on the other hand will blow out to a massive three titles that it is compatible with on the release of MW3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDP_Headbanger_Headset
@James - Not that I'm holding my breath, mate, but is this title Wii Speak compatible or will I still be looking at using a PC-based workaround (if I don't betray my sensibilities and buy one of these)?
I already own more headsets than I care to and it'd be nice if for once Nintendo would allow users some leeway in the choice of 3rd party headsets instead of locking us down to what works out to be a collection of "one-trick ponies".
I s'pose it's been said by many before me - if people already have friend's codes, what's the point in not having voice-chat available and selectable with friends only in all Wii online games?
I'm keen on the new Wii U but this smothering-mother approach that Nintendo indulges itself in is what put me off the Wii four years ago and I hope as a potential Wii U consumer that I will have more choice over my online gaming experience.
I'm just gonna get MW3 for PS3...
@Schprocket Don't think it'll be Wii Speak compatible I'm afraid.
Nintendo discontinued the Wii Speak so it will no longer work for future games (although with the Wii U on the horizon, there isn't a lot of them).. The only games that allow the PDF Headset is Black Ops, Conduit 2, and the soon to be released MW3.
worth every penny.
Thats cool
