We might be getting a taste of what the turntable brings to the whole Hip Hop culture with games like DJ Hero, but evidently, that's not enough. Konami has secured co-distribution rights with Autumn Games for the upcoming "rap game" developed by 4mm Games, Terminal Games, and Def Jam Interactive. So clear your throat and pick up the mic if you have the skills to pay the bills.
Def Jam Rapstar attempts to separate itself from the rest of the "karaoke" games by focusing exclusively on the Hip Hop genre. The soundtrack will feature over 40 different tracks, but more interestingly, it will include region-specific tracks for the UK and Europe. Fingers crossed for some Foreign Beggars, then.
So far, these are the confirmed artists and their respective tracks that will feature in the game:
- 2 Pac - I Get Around
- 50 Cent - I Get Money
- Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg - Nuthin’ But a “G” Thang
- Kanye West featuring Jamie Foxx - Gold Digger
- Lil’ Wayne - A Milli
- Notorius B.I.G. - Juicy
- Slick Rick - Children’s Story
- T.I. featuring Rihanna - Live Your Life
- Wu Tang Clan - C.R.E.A.M.
- Young Jeezy featuring Kanye West - Put On
Check out the official game Web site for more announcements on artists and tracks. Def Jam Rapstar is currently scheduled for release this autumn on the Wii and will also be available on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

@Kholdstare:
This is nothing like the fighting games. This game is what def jam does in the real world. I don't know about karaoke rapper game though. I could be okay if they do it right, if they do I just might bite.
